"Henselae-pcr negative" is Bartonella. Was there anything else listed on the PCR results??

Okay, to help you out...PCR is a test done to detect the genetic material of the bacteria or other organism they are looking for (bartonella or lyme).

When they refer to genomic or plasmid pcr, they are talking about whether they are looking for the DNA of the bacteria or pieces of the DNA. Looks like everything is negative and no borrelia or bartonella DNA was found. This does not necessarily mean that you don't have lyme or bartonella. I assume they ran the PCR on urine (they can also run the test from blood, and they may have...), and since it is just a quick snapshot of what is in the urine at that time, there is a chance you still have lyme and bart but had nothing in your urine at the time.

Everyone should remember that laboratory tests can confirm a clinical diagnosis, but should never be relied upon for a diagnosis itself.

I send my best to you, and I hope you don't have lyme or bart...I just wanted to let you know this doesn't really rule it out. Good luck to you!

great answer kristi!! I really can't add to that....she pretty much covered it. did they run an igenix WB igg and igm? you probably want that done, although it likely won't be fully cdc pos. not many of us are fully cdc pos because the guidlines are ridiculous.

but that's why lyme is a clinical dx, meaning it's treated based on symptoms

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.
