"Lyme Awareness" (karazon)

MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Hi all...

My dad and I have always had a joke about how I got this certain ailment from him, or he got a certain one from me... it's been a family joke for years. Well, now that I've been diagnosed with Lyme (by Igenex), we are realizing that our ailments that are the 'same' are Lyme related.. at least for me. So, after A LOT of convincing I finally got him to my doctor to get tested. It's been 5 or 6 weeks and we just got the results.

Igenex told him that his tests were "inconclusive". Has anyone else had that happen though Igenex? I was shocked. What does it mean? They asked him to come in and test again (another $250) and he is refusing. Oh, the luck.

Oh Clayton, I'm sorry about your Dad. Any way you can get him to our clinic?

Hope you're doing well, you can pm me if you want.

There is a certain percentage of cases out there that do not test positive. I don't have the exact number but I do know that it is a fairly high one. Some people will never test positive. When you think of what the test is testing for it makes sense. The test is only looking for your antibodies to the bacteria of borrellia. If your body does not recognize this bacteria as a threat then it will not make antibodies. You can still be very sick with the bacteria, but it can be very sneaky and hides in your DNA and also changes it's outer coat so your body may never recognize it. There are papers out there that explain this better than I, but you have to search for them. That is why the diagnosis for Lyme should be a clinical one, based on your clinical symptoms and not on a blood test. Please do not give up on your DAD, get him to a Lyme literate Dr.

Thanks Ann and Jillbyrd!

The doctor that did the testing is Lyme literate. I'll do some more research.

Ann, I just realized that there is an iHealth practitioner here in the Dallas area. I can get her to check him with the Lyme frequencies and see what shows up that way. If it's not in his body, the frequency won't 'bounce off' of it. I think that's as good of a way as any. It just won't be done through the regular channels.

Thank you both!

Hi Clayton,

So glad you found someone who can do the frequency testing in your area. I agree with Ann that it's the best road to follow. You are absolutely right, if your Dad has anything in his body, it will show up. I think that may be more accurate than the Igenix test since it's frequency specific.

Good luck!

I would think this is good news (inconclusive) and that he probably doesn't have Lymes. Does he feel sick? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it.

That's true - I was sure he had Lyme. His symptoms are just too 'Lymie'. Well, maybe he has been spared!

He's refusing to get checked by the iHealth machine - he thinks it's quackery. (But he knows I'm getting well?!). Oh well!

Thanks for all the advice!

Keep trying, Clayton. I didn't have many symptoms, guess I was so focused on Jim that I was suppressing mine. Is there anything that he would consider doing?
