I knocked a tick off my leg about five weeks ago. It bled at the site. I do not have a rash or a bull's eye. I am sick and wonder if it could be lyme. I am very tired and ache all over. I move like an old woman. I am having sleep problems. I asked the doctor for a slip to be tested but have not had the test yet. She said she wrote it for a lyme titer. Will that be conclusive?

I never had a rash either. I didn't get flu-like symptoms... I have had Lyme for over 20 years because we had no idea. Most of us on this site are partial to testing done at Igenex because they have the best success. If your test comes back negative, you could still have Lyme. It's a crazy battle! Igenex seems to be one of the most thorough.

Here are some websites that might help:

www.igenex.com

www.truthaboutlymedisease.com

Good luck and stay in touch - we are all here to help!

(I'm sure someone on here will be along soon to explain the western blot, etc. testing)... For some reason, I just don't get that stuff!

Hello and welcome!

The test he probably ordered was a screening test either the ELSIA or the IFA. If it comes back positive your Dr. will follow it with a western blot test. Because you were recently bitten you have a better chance of it coming back positive. Don't get me wrong, no one wants lyme, but the biggest problem that we have is getting a proper diagnosis. Flu like symptoms about a month after a bite is a classic sign of lyme.

If it does come back positive or negative order your own test kit from IgeneX and then we will help you with what tests to order. The other labs your insurance will send it to are just not relaible. I was able to convince my insurance co. to pay for the tests. You have to pay for them first and then turn it in to your insurance co. Please let me know before you get any western blot tests, I have some tips.

Good luck and take care,

Denise

P.S. You can PM me any time

Denise
