I agree - that video really upset me. It just puts more work on us to educate or re-educate others!

That was complete B.S. about the rash, etc. Makes me so mad. Some mother out there isn't calling her physician b/c her kid didn't have the damn rash?! That's what happened to me - 24 years later......

I despise our media.

Clayton, After you saw the news footage from GMA the other day, did you change your opinion, or are you still upset also? Did you notice the misinformation also? Just wondering. Also did you catch that Dr. Marie Savard what she said about Autoimmune Disease and this is why we might also be chronic. Is that what we might all have going on from being bitten from a tick bite? Unbelievable!! She sounds like she was more on the IDSA's side, this is just my opinion. This is what this forum is all about. This is how I view it. I am not as pi--ed off like I was the first time I saw it, I just feel really sad about why we are struggling so hard to always defend ourselves from the mistruths of what we are all dealing with. I just get so defensive, and this is how I show my anger about what I am personally dealing with it on a day to day basis. Just wondering if you changed your opinion once you watched the video. I know any exposure is good for us, but come on, right? I looked on lymenet and what the comments were there also, and there was quite a few upset, is it the Lyme Disease that makes us so angry about this disease, or do we just have a right to be pi--ed off? Luvdtoteeup..

Also there is supposed to be something on CNN tomorrow morning on Lyme Disease between 6 and 9 in the morning. I saw this somewhere that somebody posted this unless this is incorrect, I am sorry if it isn't aired just like the GMA was on a different day.. I am pretty sure there is something on tomorrow morning though. Luvdtoteeup.

I think Dr. Marie Savard is a real idiot. Pathetic. Her credentials get her 'heard' - we live this nightmare and we don't know what we are talking about. Interesting.

Well, I'm hacked off about it, too. So, my dear luvdtoteeup , you're lyme disease isn't what's making you so mad, it's the b.s. that surrounds this disease. My lyme is gone, in remission, whatever, and I'm just as incensed as you. It's going to take a LOT of people to get this ignorance turned around. It's just too bad most lymies are too flipping sick to band together and fight for our right to get well.

Bottom line, the ignorance that surrounds this disease does suck. However, we all must keep doing what it takes to get better.....for me, I will continue fine tuning my immune system, stay on my beloved Samento for a long time and be ready to stand up and fight for us when 'called' to do so.

Peace,

Connie

this infuriates me! always out of context. and yeah, AIDS doesn't exist either, right? or someone got if from doing a monkey, give me a break! gov't, gov't gov't! aaahhh I want to scream.

We have made small strides just in the past year that I've been involved in this, and I'm hoping to get to the ILADS conference in san fran this year to see what else can be done.

one thing they have right, yes, the lyme docs are experimenting on us, they have to, there is no standard protocol, what works for one, doesn't another, so yeah, we're guinea pigs, but at least they are trying to help us, instead of calling us insaine.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

You know it is time we all woke up and realized the media is not our best friend, or our only source of information. One still must read between the lines in any news story. Sure their information is biased do we really expect better? ABC , just like the insurance companies,

is a big business. They care much more about the bottom line than the truth. We don't believe the National Enquirer so why are we so quick to think ABC should and will care if what they report is true?

My best advice, do your own research and tell your own story. Get the word out in your area. Be a leader for this cause. Until one of these non-believing reporters or doctors has a first-hand experience with Lyme this will all continue.
