MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

Hello!

I am writing, grateful to find this forum, after hours and days of online lyme research.

My girlfriend is from upstate New York, she is 32, she has late stage lyme and possibly has had it since she was a kid. She was recently on pulsed oral antibiotics for 5 months but only got worse.

She is unable to work. My job barely pays our basic bills. I am worried that she will die.

Are there any resources out there that are within reach of someone who doesn't have money. There is no way we can afford a sauna or a biomat.

What is this clinic in GA that folks have mentioned?

We live in NC.

If I have to get a second or third job to help her get treatment I will.

Anybody?

Thanks for reading.

Signed

Hello and Welcome to MD....

Have her to go Public Aid, tell them she has an illiness, they should be able to help her (ok the word is SHOULD)...Or tell her to go to her village hall and explain this to them...Did a doctor tell her she can't work, if so she could apply for SS benefits. But I would try Public Aid and the village first. If the doctor told her she can't work due to being sick, then SS should be able to help her, but its a long process...Its worth trying at this point. I would ask for a "medical card from Public Aid...

I was out of work many years ago after my divorce and I got on public aid which really helped when sick.

She will not die from lyme,(that I know of) but she needs treatment to get well. Has she also talked to her doctor about the problem of no insurance, a lot of doctors will help as a "At need patient" something else I would try if I were her. Many hospitals also do that, people just don't know they do...Anything at this point is worth the try.

I wish her much luck, she will get well with proper treatment, I am living proof it can be done.

Prayers

Julie

I know that must be tough for you -- it's hard to help someone that is really sick from Lyme. It's a tough disease! I got better using all alternative treatments.

My advice to everyone on this site is that you have to treat the WHOLE body instead of just the Lyme. My organs were seriously effected by this nasty disease. Your kidneys, digestive system, heart, etc. are all taking a beating. If I didn't have a doc that worked on all of it, I wouldn't be feeling as good as I am. Conventional meds don't really do the trick in this department (that's my opinion). Detoxing and taking supplements is a good start! I am on a lymph and liver drain plus on an immune boosting protocol - I'm MUCH better! You can look for an alternative clinic that might understand some of this...

Best of luck! Stay strong!

I know because I had to do it and it would especially be easy to get if she'd not working. As long as you're applying for SSI or Social security disability you can apply through SRS (social and rehabilitative services) and get medical assistance as well as cash a food stamp, any little bit helps. I haven't been able to work and easily qualified and started receiving assistance within a couple months. Social Security takes longer but you do have to show you've applied for it to get medical aid. Medicaid alone I feel is amazing. I have 2-3 dollar copays with most things as well as prescriptions and some OTC drugs are also paid for. There are also many doctors and hospitals who will work with you on this basis even if they're not a provider. It's definitely something that wouldn't hurt to look into.
