So as I checked in today and laid there and had my picline put it, I met a super nice nurse and doc. They almost made me feel "normal" until they wanted to know where I had been to pick up this tick?

Once again had to answer no to Do you hike? Do you camp? Do you hunt? Did you travel back East? And then the puzzling looks......OMG do we really believe these are the only ways to contract Lyme. I live in the Temecula area, I used to walk outdoors everyday but that's it people!

However, the compassion and understanding was there to this fantastic team of people. Thanks you Grossmont Hospital in San Diego.

I was also very reassured when the doctor who put my picline in told me he was the hubby of my LLMD.

We will get better!

Marion

I got it in my back yard too, clearing the brush to take down a dead tree.....And I don't live in the country, I live on a 1/2 acre lot in the suburbs. We have a tree row on our property line.

In Tennessee where there is NO LYME...hahaha....I was told by several docs..

I went to the ER two days later with a fever and didnt feel good and the test came back negative for Lyme . The docs actually found it seven months later Sad and got treated for 30 days and the rest of the story is too long if u know what I mean.

40 yrs. ago from tick off my folks' LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE!!

i didn't see it; NO BULLS-EYE RASH; it was process of elmination after i finally got correct diagnosis 34.5 yrs. LATER after 40-50 drs. failed to clinically diagnose me w/lyme!!

i used my journals to back track what i was doing when i got sick & 2 weeks confined to bed.

it was SUB-ZERO IOWA weather; roommates & i had NO PETS; no gardening & i wasn't one then; all the normal ways of being bitten were eliminated ... that left my folks' live cut christmas tree!

i have met many folks BITTEN BY XMAS TREE TICKS in last 5.5 yrs. including 1 young family in 20s w/2 toddlers ... all 4 bitten!

so did you have CUT XMAS TREES TOO?

please send me a private message with the full name, city/state of your llmd; i want to make sure they are on my NATIOWNIDE llmd list since i send out names to all who come here....big thanks Smile hugs/kisses

In my own back yard. We were having a BBQ and I felt something bite me....turns out it had bitten me earlier (maybe a day or two??? It was on my back-I obviously couldn't see it!!)

It was still there and my back was swollen up and bright red all around it. We removed it and with a few days I was sick as a dog! Welcome to the world of lyme!

Was on a week long vacation in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. We went to skyline drive, went golfing, went hiking, etc etc. The last day of the trip I became horribly ill like nothing I had ever experienced and have been sick ever since. Never saw a tick and never had a rash. 7 years and over 30 doctors later I finally tested positive for Lyme Disease.

I have been bitten by so many ticks in my life I couldn't even begin to start counting...we grew up with a large pine forest behind my house, and we just loved lying in the soft fallen pine needles on a daily basis...it seemed almost like a mystical place...

but, long story short, even after being bitten by all those ticks, I got lyme in utero, but just found out...(but it's origin is in western NC)

I am not a medical doctor YET...my opinions are not approved by the FDA! ;)

Time to put my life back together right now" Eminem Not Afraid
