MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunnyfly)

I am totally out of it, I can not sleep. I am on Naproxen and Rocephin IV, wonder if it is side effects from the meds. or I can not sleep because of the pain. I wake up every 30-60 min. and can not go back to sleep after 3-4:00 am. I feel like I am getting crazy not getting enough sleep. I am trying to nap every day but can not fall asleap. I have tried herbal teas and hot baths, still no luck. Happy for any advises,

Thanks

Tina

Thanks for your answer, I just went to my family doctor in tears(not the awful infectious disease specialis I have talked about in my previous post, I will never see him again) and got some Lunesta, I will try that tonight, I need to sleep, I am not so nice to my kids anymore.

Glad to hear you are feeling better

Hi Tina,

I now take Ambien and trazadone, but for the last couple of years I took Xyrem, which is wonderful. The problem is that most docs don't know about it, don't understand it and are afraid to prescribe it. They only have to read the material and sign up for the Xyrem Success Program (www.xyrem.com), but that seems to be too much for most doctors.

It's geared toward patients with excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy, but many articles have been written about how it is ideal for fibromyalgia patients. You actually get good, deep sleep, and it helps with pain all night and into the following morning. There's no possibility for addiction and there's no withdrawal.

That said, again, the difficulty is finding someone who will prescribe it. My last pain doctor prescribed it, as did a previous psychiatrist. But now I'm back on Ambien and trazadone, which helps some.

Let us know how you are doing with the Lunesta. I sure hope that helps. Sleep is the most important thing.

Thanks for sharing this Lori,

I have been taking 3 mg. Lunesta for three days now and gets a few (3 hours )of undisturbed sleep and then I start to wake up again and again and between 3-4:00 am I have a hard time to get back to sleep. It is not like I am laying around feeling upset or thinking about stuff, it is just this kind of restlessness. Even though it is a minor improvement in my sleeping pattern I feel a huge change in my body, yesterday was the best day in over a month. I will see if I can try ambient instead, I really want to get a solid night of sleep.

Today I am seeing a Psyciatrist, I have to learn about pain control and work on sleep, I really ned that,

Thanks again,

Tina
