MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunnyfly)

I thought this was a little strange and thought I would ask if anyone had any ideas. My brother's finance was out at a park in Overland Park, KS that's notorious for having tons of deer dick and found one attached at her bra line. The strange part was it was swollen and pus filled at the bite. The Lyme test was negative and they put her on antibiotics (not sure what kind) but I still though it was strange the site was pus filled.

Any ideas?

Jessica

Yes, Ticks are dirty bugs. An infection can easily happen. However, my lymes disease and coinfections all started while living in Parkville, MO. Parkville is very close to Overland KS. The doctor told me there is no such thing as Lyme Disease. Well he was wrong. Your friend needs a preventive dose of ABX to be safe.

Best wishes.

Jessica, I would definitly make sure she takes the abx. and curious to know how many days worht this doc gave her, and what kind. Hopefully at the very least it's 30 days of doxy. Sure the bite area can get infected. But seeing as her body is having a reaaction, I'd likely think LD as well. hopefully she is pretty healthy and along with the abx her own body can help fight the infection

I'm glad to hear she is on antibiotics for a month. Why take a chance? Well, you know me, the natural girl. I would follow the doxy up with some Samento for a few months, too. Make sure your friend knows about probiotics. Most docs don't say a word about these precious gems.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

Kind of the problem is her insurance ran out thursday since it was through her mom's work and thursday she turned 22 I think. She's always done a lot to keep healthy though, eating a lot of organic foods and taking vitamins.
