I got my test rhizotomy done.

Results:

Right trap pain and tightness totally gone. For only 24 hours as the shot wore off.

Left side still hurts, but not sure if it was from the procedure, (needle going into my spine).

I'm not going to lie the procedure hurts! The Dr injected nine shots into my nerves through my spine! They use an EMG to find the nerves. I was "sleeping" but when you wake up it hurts like he**. It felt like someone drilled my lower neck / head open, but that pain want away after 3 days.

I need to discuss it more with my Dr. I'm 90 percent sure I am going to the full nerve burn with the right side. I'm not sure about the left side?

For me, Lyme hit my neck the most causing nerve pain!!! I have a PT who I have been working with for 3 yrs so that is how I manage my pain, but I want something more permanent since I have to see him 2x a week. My PT does manual traction, Stim, and ultrasound. I would like to travel again since all my family is out of state!

I'll keep people posted in case they want to try it too. I would only suggest it to people who have exhausted all other options. My has been like 6 or 7 years! The neck is so hard to manage pain.

I'm glad you are feeling some positive results. From what I've read, lyme can be neuropathic, therefore resistant to soft tissue work and pain meds. I wonder if it's like RSD which is nerve pain and boy do those people suffer.

Keep us posted, take care, Denise
