Well I'm happy to say that I had a fabulous time at Disney World, Daytona Beach and Jacksonville. Had it not been for the little electric hov-around type wheelchair I wouldn't have been able to go. Now I'm a pro on those things. Unfortunately too I'm exhausted from this trip. My doctor changed me from doxy to zithromax before the trip however I forgot my meds so I've been off them about 2 weeks. Still having alot of foot/leg/knee/hip, ok all over pain but did not have to resort to pain meds thankfully.

I'm thinking about going to an alternative doctor in the Dallas area who administers the IV supplements, etc to see if I can avoid taking the antibiotics.

Does anyone have any experience with Zithromax? Side effects? Good? Bad? Ugly?

Thanks!

Tracey

Welcome back Tracey,

I'm glad you had a great time in Florida. Sorry, I don't have any experience with Zithromax. I'm glad that you are considering the alternative Dr. Be sure to ask if they've treated a lyme patient before.

Good luck and take care, Denise

I was on Zitrom for over a year, years ago for another reason. Out of the blue one night I woke up thinking I was having a heart attack, went to the ER...They told me my body was ODing from the zitrom. So I went off it. Last summer I decided to try it again, this time my hands and feet went totally numb, so for me I will never touch the stuff again. I think they over use this drug.

Here is a great site about this drug..

Welcome Back Tracey!!!!

So glad to hear you had a great time. The spirit of a Lymie cannot be broken , even when in pain!!! I'm glad you made the best of it.

Well, as everyone on here knows by know....I cannot comment on any experiences with conventional antibiotics such as Zithromax. I didn't take any.

However, about your alternative treatment. Maybe you could pm me with the name of the doc and I'll ask some questions. However, if you feel good about this doc and he/she has successful experiences helping people with Lyme....go for it. Be sure to ask how many Lymies she/he has treated and how they are doing. You could even ask for a phone number of patients who have gotten well. I never thought to do that, but now I'm on a 'list' at my doc's office for people to call who are apprehensive about 'taking the plunge' into alternative medicine.

You mentioned IV supplements which are a great boost for us, but does he/she also use natural antibiotics? If you go the all natural route, nutritional supplements aren't enough (my opnion)...we need a natural antibiotic, too. There are many to choose from. I'm currently on Samento by Nutramedix and Barberry by Nutramedix. There are other natural antibiotics, too. That's just what I take.

Again, we're glad you're back and that you had fun.

Connie

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

I think she may be refering to my Dr. He does both natural and conventional. You do the IV supplements like vitamins to boost your immune and take natural antibiotics or you can do conventional. I am on the Vanderbilt Stratton Protocol. www.cpnhelp.org

I take Zithromax M, W F, doxcy 2 times a day and pulse cedifinir. i'm suppose to do the IV vitimins but ran out of money...

The protcol helps other dieases than just lymes. It's a CAP Combined antibotics along with alternative ways to boost immune system.

THe IV supplements are expensive.

My dr is good and has treated many lymes, MS, and cancer patients. He was trained by Dr Stratton. Plus he takes insurance! Thank God!!!
