Lulu,

The anemia is suspicious for a Lyme co-infection, Babesia...although Lyme has been known to screw with your blood levels as well.

In my opinion, the 10 days was not enough treatment, and you might want to work with an LLMD.

Keep plugging away and I hope you feel better.

Tom

Wow, I'm confused. If your tests are positive, why does'nt he think you need treatment? Ask him which tick infections he is talking about. I'm with Tom the 10 days is'nt going to do it. I still recommend you find a Dr. who knows what he/she is talking about.

Good luck, Denise

Well i'm confused too..... I was officially diagnosed with sarcoidosis(all except one test came back) some type of fungal test but he expects it to be negative and anemia but the hematologist said it was iron deficiency anemia instead of the anemia caused from tick bites????? I know that that I am tired and in pain. can someone explain the IgeneX tests how do I get tested??? He put me on prednisone 20mg, actonel, and 325mg iron pills, did I read somewhere that steroids only make Lyme's worse??? Thanks for all your help I'm not giving up yet!

Hi Lulu,

Welcome! I recently had the Igenex test, mine took 16 days. Don't give up, it's a struggle to find the right treatment, keep at it, this group is a great source.

Ann

Steriods are bad MMM kay!!

Well I hope someone got the South Park reference. Anyway you should definatly not take steriods if you suspect lyme, although someone else may explain why I've just heard you should'nt.

You can get on the Igenex website and call the number and ask for a test kit. You will have to pay for it and hope your insurance co. will reimburse you. You will have to have your Dr. sign the paperwork. But I thought some of your tick infections bloodwork was positive. You can also use Immunoscience lab for lyme and co-infections test I think also private pay.

Hope this helps, Denise

yeah, the doc said "my tick titer levels were high which indicated I HAD a tick infection at one point but NOT now" but how can they tell I "Had" an infection but I don't have it now? I don't know anything about titer levels or if they can even tell you HAD an infection but I'm trying to understand because I have HAD ENOUGH of my GP and when I do understand she will get an ear full! Thanks you guys are helping more than you know, LuLu

Oh, that's B.S. - watch out for that doc - that's the reason people aren't getting well - their doctors don't understand how all this works!

10 days - NOT enough, at all! Definitely find an LLMD. You are right to be concerned. Most of us are battling this disease like soldiers b/c of bad doctors in our past. We could have been tested and treated properly and our lives wouldn't be so upside down!

My advice is to research the hell out of Lyme Disease and always be one step ahead of your doctor!

Best of luck to you - let us know how we can help/support you! We've all been where you are...
