Hi all, I started feeling badly in March 07 I went to the Doc and was Diagnosed with an ear infection and upper respiratory infection she put me on antibiotics but after 10 days I still felt the same with the exception my ear wasn't hurting. Some of my symptoms were headache, chills, flushing, muscle pain, Stiff neck, joint inflammation, menstrual irregularity, Fatigue, tiredness, poor stamina, constipation, Twitching muscles, Tingling, numbness, burning sensations, blurry Vision, Confusion, difficulty in thinking, Difficulty with concentration, reading, Forgetfulness, poor short term memory, Disorientation: getting lost, going to wrong places, Difficulty with speech or writing; word block, Mood swings, irritability at this point she did routine blood work came back all GOOD then I told her I had been bitten by a tick and maybe I have a tick disease so she tested me while awaiting results she put me on antibiotics and I had been have Severe back pain so she ordered a spine x-ray, my back was fine but the radiologist saw something in my lungs so I had chest x-ray and they said I had pneumonia at this point they put me on another antibiotics in the mean time I didn't feel any better and my blood work for the tick diseases came back NEGATIVE! After 10 days I still felt bad so she ordered a follow up chest x-ray, CT scan of my sinuses and a MRI but the machine was down and the moved my appointment something got mixed up and I never got the follow up chest x-ray to see if the "pneumonia" had cleared hear it is June and I am still sick I feel like I have a chest cold but no cough, headache, fatigue, I can’t do anything I get very tired and out of breath they did another chest x-ray and it was abnormal so I had a CT scan done and now there are saying sarcoidosis she also did another blood test and it shows I have Mono……. I have been reading on the net and I called the Doc this morning and asked what my titer levels were she said my IGG was 1848 supposed to be 100-120 and something else was 2012 supposed to 100-120 can they be misdiagnosing me with mono? Did that question make sense? I have an appointment with a pulmonary doc Friday the see about my lungs.

Lulu,

You can ask your doctor for a Lyme test.

You certainly have all the symptoms of someone with Lyme, but you have had two instances of using antibiotics, so taking a test for Lyme may very well show a positive, if you have been exposed to the infection. It could also lead your doctor in to believing it is a false positive, which will do you no good if you in fact do have Lyme disease. Delaying treatment will only make the symptoms worse.

At this point in time, and with all of those symptoms, it would be worth finding a Lyme Literate Doctor to check you out.

Send a PM on this site to one of the group leaders, Jaime, and let her know where you are. She will send you the names of doctors in your area.

The reason I am suggesting you see one right away is so that you avoid one of the HUGE pitfalls of a Lyme diagnosis, and that is going to tons of doctors and getting a bunch of meds and advice you don't need. Go right to a Lyme doc and find out for sure...save yourself a lot of trouble and heartache. Your symptoms suggest it, so go for it.

Take care and be well.

Tom

lulu, send me a pm please. where you live and where you are willing to travel to. Sounds like lyme symptoms to me. you can also go to Igenix's website and order a test kit for the western blot (you want to be tested thru igenix, what a regular doc does is much more unreliable), you can also go as far as co infection testing, but thru treatment most of those will be covered.

rignt now build your immune system, garlic is a great natural antibiotic, antiparasitic, antifungal, etc.... cats claw is a good natural supplement people take (sawmento), does not matter if it's TOA free or not, I have read in Buhner's book. Just money involved.

pm me.

thanks,

jaime

Hello and welcome!

I agree with the others, you need to find a LLMD and get the proper tests. I can't tell you how many people I know that the Dr. said they did'nt have lyme because the screening test they did was negative. Also a lot of us that have lyme also have high titers for EBV (mono).

Good luck and take care, Denise

Hi LuLu and welcome!!!

I'm so sorry you are living the Lyme nightmare.

I agree that it would be best for you to find an LLMD to help with your diagnosis. It sounds 'lymie.'

I'm not sure where you are, but if you're willing to travel, I know of a doctor in the South that is excellent. It's an alternative , natural approach, but it worked for me and several others on this site are now seeing him. Just pm me if you'd like details.

Peace,

Connie

I went and was re-tested yesterday, I'm not sure what tests are being done I guess we'll just wait and see. I have another question: Could mold be causing my problems/symptoms?

Mold may be part of the problem, but I don't believe it would be the only one. More likely, it's Lyme and perhaps a coinfection or more.

I went to a pulmonary doc Fri he did a bronchoscopy yesterday and blood work Friday he said I was anemic. They also did a TB skin test yesterday and I have another appointment tomorrow to get the results.... also have an appointment with another doc about the anemia. Three weeks ago I tested positive for mono and Friday no signs of mono but positive for anemia, is this odd?

I retested for tick borne infections last Wednesday, I called my regular doc this morning and she said I showed positive for some sort of tick infection at some point but not now because I have already taken the 10 days of Doxycycline required to get rid of it back in March/April. This time the tick test only took a week and last time it took like 3-4 weeks?????

She said my tick titer levels showed positive, what does this mean?
