so today i went to see my infectious disease doctor. things went well, she prescribed a second round of doxycycline and some naprocen for the pain (500 mg tablets). not too sure how i feel about the naprocen though, i took one about 2 hours ago and i still feel so much pain in my back and neck, it's unbearable almost to even sit at the computer and type this. but hopefully after the second round of doxy my body will finally be rid of all bacteria.

I'm on Lyrica for Pain (just like Naprocen) it takes a few days to work. I did not like the side effect at firt of the Lyrica (dizzy and out of it) but once it kicked in its my NEW BEST FRIEND...

I have been on naprocen for a month now and am still in pain, thinking about giving it up, has it started to make any difference for you. I have started to take a lot of hot baths to ease my shoulder pain, neck pain, foot pain and knee pain. It seems to help. Also a lot of sleep makes a great difference, yesterday I had a good night sleep and felt a lot better but today I just slept for a few hours and feel worse. Today I am seeing a massage therapist, I am hopeful that it will make me feel better.

I was on doxcyciclin for ten days after I got diagnosed and am now on Rocephin IV for two weeks. The doctor does not seem to think I need any further treatment but I really think I should be on doxcycyclin for another 4 weeks after the IV is done.

I really hope you feel better soon,

Tina

Thanks for the insight Tina, Naprocen made a slight difference, but I stopped taking it because I didn't always like the side effects. And you're right, hot showers and sleep do help my aches and pains. So do heating pads. I think the doxy is starting to kick in again because I'm starting to feel a little better. But who knows.
