Hello, I am new to this forum...I have fibro/CFS for 4 years now. Finally got someone to do Lyme test...it was ispot Lyme with western blot by neuroscience. The ispot was positive with a value of 36. The western blot was negative. I have asked her to talk to my rheumatologist if I should have the ELISA test done. Long story about the different drs....

Just wondering if anyone else has had this test done?? She believes it is significant that we found this based on my history. I want to have the other test done if need be before I pursue treatment. She said she would help me find a lyme literate Dr... Anyone know of one here...I am in eastern Iowa. Obviously would probably have to travel I understand.

Thanks. I am new to this and appreciate the help. Finally feels good to have answers...

Try to get an Igenex Western blot done.

I am not familiar with the other one.

Thank you Pam. I did have a Western Blot also. The IgG bands p23, P39, and p41 were positive. The test was considered negative.

"The iSpot Lyme is a test that measures T cell response to the bacterium..." from NeuroScience paperwork with my test.

I am happy to have found this group. Thanks

That is not a negative WB if interpreted by a clinician who knows Lyme.

Band 23-25 outer surface protein C (OspC), specific for Bb

Band 39 is a major protein of Bb flagellin; specific for Bb

Get the name of a LLMD and make an appointment.

This is eye-opening. Thank you Pam!!

I wonder how much of my Fibro/CFS symptoms are really Lyme related...

Blessings,

Jody

Many of us were diagnosed with FM, CFS, and MS. Then find out it was all Lyme.

The doctor should have given you a print out.

You should always be able to call the lab and get a copy of your results.

My results had 4 pages total, 2 of which explained the how the test works.

The first page interprets the test. according to my sheet, for the ispot Lyme, here are the interpretations:

Negative: less than or equal to 17

Equivocal: 18-24

POSITIVE: greater than or equal to 25.

I also had the Western Blot done with this test and the results and my positive bands were listed on that sheet.

I would get a copy for your records!!!!

Did an LLMD perform your test?? They should be able to explain to you. You are positive for Lyme.

Thank you, I will request a copy. I did the western blot as well, I have that copy, could I look at my old results to my new results to see if the numbers went down?

My dr isn't a lyme dr but he knows a lot about Lyme disease and has been treating me for the past year
