im soooo sick of the hight doses of antibiotics. i went about 7 years without treatment because the doctors said i was "cured" i still have symptoms on and off and have been trying to find a way to keep them under better control. i recently have been seeing dr. donta in MA but he just put me on antibiotics that make me feel worse then when the lyme acts up. i would love to get rid of it all together but i dont think that is possible. any body have anything that helps them

Hi Jmulley6,

I was successfully treated using alternative medicine. I did not take a single dose of any conventional antibiotics ever for my Lyme disease. I also had coinfections. I had babesia, bartonella, ehrlichia, HHV6 and HHV7. I was reinfected on May 13, 2008 with more lyme, more babesia and some Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. However, my symptoms from my new infections are so mild they are not interfering with my life. (It was rough for about a week or two after infection). I started my 'program of recovery' in March of 2007 and I steadily got better over the course of 8 months or so. So, even though I was reinfected I'm not very symptomatic I believe because my body is 'taking care of business' on its own now. I am still taking my natural antibiotics and a host of other homeopathics, herbals and natural supplements so perhaps the new infections never had much of a chance to get their grip on me.

No one knows for sure if we can totally eradicate lyme. It's a stealth pathogen that hides so many places and takes on different forms that can be hard to kill. However, I know Lyme can go into remission. I'm living free from the bondage of Lyme. Even though I've been reinfected, I'm still making progress towards feeling better. In fact, I feel exceptionally healthy. I hope and pray every day that other lymies will get the same or similar results as I have.

I didn't get better on my own. I was under the care of an MD in the South. I can't imagine figuring this out on my own (especially with all that fog that I used to endure ).

Others on this site are using some natural remedies, too. I'm sure they will be along to offer some guidance, too. Personally, I used Samento by Nutramedix for the antibiotic. However, I also used a lot of different homeopathics, herbals and nutritional supplements to boost my immune system, to help with detox, and to replenish and restore my nutritional status. I also got acupuncture, had chiropractic treatments, used HBOT, FIR sauna, and I sleep on a bio mat which is oh so heavenly.

So, please feel free to ask any questions that you may have and I will try my best to answer them as quickly as possible or you can pm me, too.

Peace,

Connie

I'm on the same treatment plan (pretty much) as Lymie ---

I think the natural route is the way to go! At least, for me it is...

Best of luck - ask any questions... we're happy to answer them.

Hey Jmulley6,

I am fortunate to be able to go to the same clinic as Clayton and Lymie. I,ve only just begun my treatments but I hope to get the same results. My advice to you for now is to keep up with Dr. Donta's recommendations, until you can find a place that can assist you through the alternative route. It sounds like you are having herxheimer reactions to the abx's but that usually happens. I would call the Dr. office to see if they have any advice on how to cope with the herxing. I would also mention the alternative methods Lymie mentioned and see if he will agree to adding some of these to your treatment program, especially the hyperbaric oxygen tx's, FIR sauna and probiotics. In other words if you are going to try any alternative treatments, Dr. Donta needs to know. In the meantime I will try to find out if my clinic can recommend a clinic in your area.

Take care, Denise

Denise
