Lymph node swelling is a classic symptom of Lyme infection...or infection...period. When you get an infection you start producing tons of lymphocytes to fight the infection and your lymph nodes swell, because the lymphocytes travel through the lymph system.

Here's the problem with Lyme that makes it worse...Bb (the Lyme bacteria) attach themselves to lymphocytes and use them to travel around and attack your immune system. Thus, you can achieve some extraordinary reactions in your lymph nodes.

There are other things that can cause lymph nodes to swell, but if you know you have Lyme disease, you can almost chalk up any problems to be an affect of the Lyme infection.

If you have swollen nodes from poor circulation through the lymph system, the massage technique is the most widely recognized and prescribed method for draining lymph nodes. Any doctor should be able to write for you to go to a therapist for treatment. This is done for patients on all forms of radiation treatment for cancer, or for anyone who has had lymph nodes removed for any reason.

My personal lymph node demons are under the arms and in the neck and chest area. Not much swelling, but a whole lot of hurting. This can be a neurological manifestation as well, so I just tolerate it as best I can.

I hope you find relief.

Tom

Hi Luvdtoteeup,

My swollen lymph node on my neck is considerably better since my last post just a few days ago. I've been drinking tons of water, exercising, and jumping in a FIR sauna almost daily. Plus, as I mentioned before I take homeopathics to help support the detox organs.

I would love to try one of those massages. My doctor did recommend that for me,too. However, with all the other stuff I did, I just never took the time. It sounds like it would be really helpful, especially if you don't have access to a FIR sauna and are unable to exercise. I'm only beginning to exercise again , after a 5 year break due to lyme and company.

I hope you can get some relief soon. I know they can be painful.

Take care,

Connie

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.
