Hi Everyone,

I have a question to anyone out there. Has anyone had problems with Lymph Nodes swelling up because of the Lyme Disease? I just got my CT results from over a week ago now and what is going on in my leg is not a blood clot, but a Lymph Node sticking way out and it is very painful. In 2002, while I was running a golf tournament, I had to go to the ER because I had one sticking out of my neck about an inch to two inches out. Now it is happening in my leg. I have had pain under my arm pit with another lymph node. It gets painful here also sometimes. Is this something I need to be concerned about? What did any of you if you have had this happen do? I searched on the internet and a guy had this happen and did the biopsy of it and they never found anything wrong any way. My Dr. suggested that I get it biopsied. What do you guys think? If it is Lyme, will anything show on the biopsy any way? Any comments on this would be very helpful. Thanks so much, Dawn.

Sounds like you have a sluggish lymph system. (toxins are building up faster than your body can remove them) This is VERY common in us Lymies. Right now I have a really swollen lymph node on my neck (close to my scalp and close to site of recent bite). It was painful last two weeks and is less painful now. I stepped up detox. Exercise can really help move the toxins through. (I know how difficult that is when you're sick...I didn't exercise for 5 years and am just now starting jogging again) However, every little bit helps.

Do you already drink plenty of purified water? Personally, I like to avoid ordinary tap water...no chlorine for me. That's just me.

What are you doing to support detox? Maybe a little more info about what you're doing for detox will help us help you

Do you have access to a FIR sauna?(if that's something you're able to do , only you can decide that) That REAlly helps me.

Of course, as you probably already know, I am on alternative treatment to get better. So my medicine is herbals, homeopathics and nutritional sups. I take a product that has a mixture of milk thistle seed,Heart's tongue, blue vervain, white nettle flower, and oak fern. Sounds crazy if you're not used to seeing these kind of 'ingredients.' However, it helps to support the liver, kidney and spleen...our detox organs.

Keep us posted.

Peace,

Connie

I agree - detox, detox, detox! I just did a lymph system detox. I noticed years ago when I got stung by a yellow jacket that my hand swelled up like the Nutty Professor's. I was never allergic to bees before and that's when I realized that my lymph system didn't know what to do with the poison. It was blocked.

I found out during my treatment that I have Epstein Barr - many of us do. My lymph nodes have been swollen most of my life and I've never had a doctor test me for mono until recently. Doesn't make sense does it? Crazy doctors...

Try detoxing and see if you can tell a difference.

This may sound stupid, but I am going to blame the lyme right now. What are the steps to detox?? What are the best treatments for this? I haven't a clue what to do. Thanks everyone. Dawn.

Hi Dawn, a simple detox is drinking a lot of water, taking milk thistle is great for the liver, a warm bath with epsom salt and fresh grated ginger, some even put peroxide in. Dry body brushing is another good thing to get things moving in the lymph system. Sauna's are good too. You don't have to take brutal things to detox, start slow, with lymies our bodies are under so much stress that sometimes it's best to start gentle.

You could also find a LICENCED massage therapist who is good at lymph drainage, a VERY light massage that gets the toxins moving (I am a LMT, not practicing of course, too sick), but after EVERY massage you should drink plenty of water to help flush toxins out of your body.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Thanks so much Jaime. There aren't any health clubs or any one up in this neck of the woods to use a sauna unfortunately. I wish I had one. Maybe if I win my work comp suit for this disease since it was a work related injury, just got to prove it with my doctor treating me now, the first thing I will purchase is a sauna for my system to get better or a whirlpool. Is the water that is purified better? No chlorine in it? Our water here has a lot of chlorine in it. My dad is on the board for our rural water system, I'll have to blame him if it isn't good for me. Ha Ha. He'll love that one. Thanks for your help Jaime. I'll see what I can start to do first. Dawn.

Hi, I had a really horrible vaginal infection last year and it became so bad that my lymph glands couldn't keep up with this infection and it ended up spreading into my legs and becoming septic. The thing that I found that worked the best would be lymph drainage. It is a massage technique that some massage therapists do and also many physical therapists can do. It is a type of very light massage that keeps things moving and they can actually show you how to do it yourself. This may help to keep things moving out of your body.

my journey with LD started with enlarged lymph nodes. For the first several years they consistently stuck out of my right arm pit, groin area, and behind my knees and hurt. Drs. just couldn't figure it all out and kept sending me to specialist after spacialist

(we all know that drill). It took over 4 years before being clinically. diagnosed. After treatment they went down, but i know when they swell up again it is lyme.

Lyme drainage sounds like a great idea!!!!

I have not done the detoxing regimens that Jaime mentioned - I have only read about them. I'm sure they work just fine.

Here's a list of what I am on (I just started some of these a few days ago). I'll report back after a few weeks to let you know how I feel...

Lymph Terrain and Liver Terrain by TerrainMax, Metatox, Immu-Boost, Lyme Disease Homeopathic Remedy, and Echinacea Complex all by Standard Enzyme Company of N.America. I'm also on a few tinctures to help with my Spleen and who knows what else. But, my body is functioning better than it has been in years. And, my lymph glands aren't the size of golf balls anymore.

A month ago, I tried 'oil-pulling' and i think it brought some bad stuff to the surface. Oil Pulling is where you swish cold pressed sesame oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes and it pulls out any toxins, bacteria, parasites, etc. I felt terrible that whole week - had a bloody nose and an ear ache. I'm not doing that again! You can read about oil pulling on that EarthClinic.com. It seems to have some great benefits for a lot of people. (Including teeth whitening and healing gums).
