My son is 5 and in Kindergarten.

At Parent Teacher Conferences last night, his teacher was very frustrated and said that he seems to be regressing.

He know his letters and sounds and numbers last year already and now he is not recognizing some of them.

Could this possibley be Neurological Lyme? He has never presented with these problems before.

She also said that he seems to be off in space sometimes. It takes him 3 times as long as the other students to complete a task.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me or any insight?

UUUUUUGH I was afraid of that....MY 8 year old is EXACTLY the same way! He didn't start acting like that until after Kindergarten. He has so many symptoms now. I'm sure I passed it to him in utero. He cries a lot and is super sensitive to heat and cold and any kind of pain is like a truck landed on him. He CANT get organized. He can't remember more than one thing at a time and THATS only if he can get from one room to the next without stopping to stare off into space or start one of his daydreams. He is always the LAST person to get his work done....

Sorry I can't give any advice but I SURE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO SAY...I've heard we shouldn't treat children until they are older or atleast wait until they start having really bad symptoms...wow.....now I feel horrible..This cemented my suspicions that my son has contracted lyme too.

*HUG* I'll monitor this post and see if anyone else responds..

With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.

Numbers 6:24-26
"The LORD bless you and keep you;the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."

this could be normal, it does happen at this age, I would not make him feel there might be something wrong, Don't let him hear you talk about it to anyone(makes things worse) & don't let him see you worry. just keep up the correcting consistently,, to make all good habits feel like they naturally formed,,, keep practicing ,,usually will work itself out. not uncommon. hope this might help...good luck
