Hello all, If any of you have been following my posts I need to update my status. First of all I've been waiting for weeks to hear from my Kaiser ID Dr. about whether they will approve the IgeneX testing. He called me on May 27th and said he called the person/board that was supposed to look in to it and said they had done nothing. He told me he got very upset with them and they promised to have an answer for him in 72 hours, so I hope to find out tomorrow. In the meantime I made an appt. with a clinic that Lymie and Clayton72 go to. My appt. was today and I am crying tears of joy because I really feel like this clinic can really help me and I'm thankful that I don't have to travel far to go there. This Dr. does his own diagnostic testing confirming what I suspected after doing my own research. He said I do have lyme and some co-infections. His simplified diagnosis is chronic infections with affected organs being my heart ( I knew that with my DCM ),spleen and brain. His approach is to treat my weakened systems in order to build up my immune system in order to fight the bacteria. He also uses a natural abx. and hyperbaric oxygen tx's. I hope to get completely well but I know it will take time. Lymie and Clayton are responding well to his tx. approach. I took my husband with me who was a little skeptical and he likes the " treat the person not the symptom approach". I still hope to get the IgeneX testing done so I can prove to kaiser that I've had this disease all along with some faint hope of getting them to change their testing protocal. I'm also glad I found this clinic because the idea of long term IV abx scares me especially if the MD does'nt know what he is doing. Everyone of course needs to make their own decision about tx. but I just wanted to confirm what Lymie and Clayton are saying that there is an alternitive tx. option.

Good luck to all, Denise

Yay!!! I'm so glad you went. I love the clinic and the staff. I am going back for a week in June and am actually excited about it. Not often you are excited to go to the doctor.

I'm glad you found hope - just stick to what he tells you. I fell of the wagon a bit and have caused myself to feel a little bit bad again - totally my fault. I haven't been paying attention to my food allergies, etc. I can feel the difference. Back on the band wagon --

It's a serious process to get well but it's worth it. Hopefully we'll meet soon!

Clayton

That's such great news Denise!! I am so happy you are getting some where with this. It is so good to have connections on this forum to get help and get directions or connections on where to go to receive the best treatment for everyone. What a blessing the connections you have made on here. I feel blessed also!! Some days I really just want to give up, cause I feel so bad. I keep looking to this support group for encouragement, ideas, friendship and keep my hope alive. This is such a horrendous disease!! I pray for the day I will get proper treatment also. Dawn.

Yahoo Denise! You go! I am so happy that you were pleased with your visit! I think I pmd you, I can't remember (I'm fogging a little because of that recent reinfection). I was just wondering today how you were doing and lo and behold here's the answer.

I'm with Clayton. I look forward to going to the clinic, too. They've become more like friends than my 'health care providers.'

Yes, do what they say and you'll get better.

Yes, it would be fun for all of us to meet someday.

I am excited for you , Denise.

Connie

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.
