I was wondering if anyone has a hypertension component to their lupus. I have been a flare for about a month and everyday I feel like I am getting worse. I get short or breath, hot flashes and rolling sweats which (I think is related to my blood pressure meds wearing off...) causing my blood pressure to spike up to 180-200/110, resting heart 140 and labored respirations. These "spells" last about 30min. I am taking labetalol and have an appt with my MD soon. I am wondering when the methotrexate will kick in. The doctor said almost a month. Any advice??? Thanks

I have never experienced high blood pressure do to the lupus, mine actually has always been to low. But I do have the hot flashes and night sweats every day.

I used to take Methotrexate but I stopped just 2 wks ago. But I remembering it taking awhile to take affect. My doc told me approx. 6 wks.

Sorry if I couldn't help much.

I am praying as I read your post that you are either in your doctor's office or the E.R. at your local hospital. Your BP and pulse are dangerously high.

Go NOW, and God speed.Peace Out.
