MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

I have never taken Cytoxan, but I have been on Lupron for 2 1/2 years now for endometriosis. It is not supposed to cause pain but I don't know why you are taking it. I was taking it to stop severe pelvic pains and it doesn't work initially for a few months.

Cytoxan can cause infertility so taking Lupron once a month via injection to prevent infertility by stopping the ovulation process. Dr showed me a list of rare side effects which included bladder spasms. He said it might also be uterine spasms (uterine spasms wasnt on the list) but just his med opinion. Since she started her monthly cycle the day after the Cytoxan and Lupron, both dr's (rheumy and oncologist/hemotologist) thinking that may have be a factor. think we'll know for sure this Friday since they will give the Lupron sub q w/out Cytoxan and see if the pain returns. She said it is a 10 on a 1-10 scale which she's never given to any of her pain so i know it's very painful for her. They did ultrasound and UA to rule out injuries/kidneys. Both came back normal. thanks for your reply, how odd that you take it to prevent pelvic pains, and my daughter's taking it and having pelvic pains. I dont know the dosage amts right off hand. Maybe that might be the difference? Well we may see Friday. Maybe like you are saying it takes time to work. I'll ask her dr. Thanks again!

Anytime...I didn't even know there were different uses...But I'm also on it to stop infertitility from the endometriosis so I guess that is the link Smile

I hope your daughter feels better soon!

i've read that lupron is prescribed for prostate cancer, too. very broad range of uses, if i remember correctly, lupron has just started to be used with lupus and chemo treatments. if the pain continues, they'll stop the lupron which will mean no fertility protection but at this point we have no problems with that. thanks for the reply.

my daughter had the lupron injection and didnt experience the same pain as the previous time. She had the cytoxan last Friday and didnt have the pain, this time they gave her Mezna along with the cytoxan to protect the bladder. Dr's are not sure what really caused the severe pain last time but we are all glad it didnt return and hope it never does.

I'm an Advocate

i was on Lupron Injections in 2006 to put me through a crash induced menopause before my hysterectomy. It helped in subsiding some of the pain I was experiencing before the injections. The worst psrt about it was I gained a TON of weight on it. After the surgery and the stopping of injections the weight dropped off fast.
I suffer from Rapid Progressive MS, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Epilepsy, Migraines, Neuropathy, IBS, Narcolepsy, Arrythmia, Arthritis and too much more complete list on profile.
