The malar rash I get on my face burns and stings like a sunburn would feel. I'm very careful about wearing sunblock (spf 85) every single day even on cloudy rainy days because not only am I sensitive to the sun but just light in general. I'm sure everybody is different. I also get bumps on my face as well.

My rash doesn't feel any different. But, I do wear uva/uvb sunscreen almost very day. And I not only have a reaction to the sun, but heat is a real killer for me. Once it gets into the 80's, I know to try and stay inside. When I am in a bad flare, I aways get spots on my cheeks that I call my "old lady" rash. It is a bright rash that looks like a little circle of blush on my cheeks.

Thanks. My doctor says my rash looks like malar. I am so sick. After the rash turns back to normal color my skin is really dry and peeling
