MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunnyfly)

Hello all,

My name is Stephanie and I am 24 years old. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 5 years and we have 2 small children. Jesenia Marie who is 4 and Joseph Gabriel who is 17months.

Back in 2003 during my first pregnancy I began to have high blood pressure, protein in my urine, fatigue. At 34 weeks my doctors decided to induce me. My platelets were very low. They were worried that I had help syndrome or that I was pre-eclamptic. After my daughter was born my symptoms seem to have vanished. About 2 weeks later I was in the er. I was throwing up, I have fevers. The said I had a UTI. They put me on meds and sent me home. For 6 months I went through this.( My husband was active duty Army so I was going to a military hospital) Finally in Jan of 04' The doctors at the military hospital said they had no idea what was wrong with me and that I was very ill. They transferd me to the University of North Carolina hospital.

I do not remember much of my stay because I was so sick. But I do remember getting there and the Nephrologist and Rheumy looking at my chart and saying you have Lupus Nephritis. All we need now are the tests to give the offical diagnosis. I had a kidney biopsy, all the blood work done. And they were right on the money. They told me had I not been sent there and this went on for a little bit longer I would not be here today.

My husband has since finished active duty and we moved back home to Illinois. I am doing a little better. I am stable. In 2005 we decided that if we were going to have another child now was the time to do it. So we did and the pregnancy went perfect. I was induced at 35 weeks because they were worried that after that time I would flare. I have not had a flare since 2004.

I have since been diagnosed with R.A, Osteopenia, Myopathy and Peripheral Neuropathy. I am telling you it is getting harder and harder to keep up with all this stuff! LOL

I can say that right now at this point in time I am ok. I have finally come to terms that I have these conditions. I take my medicine like I am supposed to and get my rest. Just like everyone else I have my bad days. And I have mostly bad days with fatigue. But I get up and out of bed every morning for my beautiful children.
