Has anyone ever had any problems with their eyes because they were on Plaquenil? Just curious but not George...LOL
From the last time I was on I was told by my gynecologist that I had endometriosis and I had to have a D&C and a new procedure called Novasure.

I have a hard time focusing and my eyes are really dry all the time.

But I dont know if it is from the Plaquenil or the disease itself.

I finally had to start using my glasses instead of my contacts because it got so bad. I went to the eyedoctor and he said I have lost the ability to focus and that I need to get bifocals.

I have a hard time focusing at night and my eyes are really dry but that from the Sjorgens for me. Have they ever checked to see if you have that. They diagnosed me with it when my contacts kept getting infected after six months. The doctor checked and that's what I had.

I just had my eye exam. I complained about the trouble focussing and seeing at night. My eye Dr. assured me that it is normal for many people ( around age 40) to get that and it's not the plaquenil. I'm very good about the 6-month check-ups.

I am on Plaquenil. My Ophthalmologist has said he rarely sees problems from the use of it. I hope it works out well for you.

My doctor put me on Plaquenil two weeks ago, she sent me to the eye doctor and wants me get my eyes check every 6 months. They are taking pictures of my eyes and stuff. The eye doc said it was a another med simalar to plaquenil that was causing problems with the eyes. Good Luck.

I took plaquenil for about 3yrs. It did finally affect my vision. My vision got very bad the last six mos. I was taking it. I couldn't believe how much worse my vision got within a six month period.

If you really have to take it, it is a good idea to get your eyes checked every 6mos.!

hugs, jenn
