Im a 30yr old single mom just diagnosed with lupus panniculitis a few months ago. There r no support groups in my area, and people try to know what im talkin about, but they dont. Right now im kind of in a remission stage my dermotologist called it, but im left with disgusting permanent bruises and indents on my arms and back. Somebody help.

Hi there, my name is Sally. I am new here too. Do you get a rash first and then it leaves purplish looking scars? Does it itch. I don't have any remedies for you but I am wondering if that is what I may have...I was diagnosed in 2000 with SLE. But after I had gotten pregnant I had started getting what I thought was acne. I never had acne as a teen and now I get a rash on my arms legs feet hands and face. But the rash on my face hurts. I go to a doctor for it on Feb 6th if I find out anything I will let you know ok. Good luck and I will be praying for you.

I dont have a rash. I get really sore lumps and after awhile they reabsorb and cause permanent indents and bruises. I have alot of permanent scars on my arms, shoulders, and back. I was just recently diagnosed with the panniculitis by a dermatologist. My old primary had chalked up the lumps as fatty tumors and was gonna leave it at that, but i wasnt buyin that story. After the dermatologist diagnosed me i changed primary doctors and im much happier now.

Welcome to the group you two! I was diagnosed with SLE 5 and a half years ago. I too get the rashes. I have rashes on my back and arms that itch like crazy and when I do get the "butterfly rash" on my face it tends to itch (but in a painful way) too. Luckily I only get the butterfly rash when I am in a really bad flare but the ones on my back and arms are driving me batty! Again welcome to the group!

I don't get the rash on my back but I do get it on my chest but mostly on my toes I just discovered a bump on my left heel. I don't get the butterfly rash though. but the spots I get on my arms and legs and toes get really itchy but the ones on my face get sore like acne. I can't wait to go to the doctor in feb. my toes itch like mad!!! I am taking itch pills but they don't want me to take the prednisone until the new doctor sees it. I guess I can understand that but I don't like it..lol Well thank you for the welcome.
