MDJunction to me

liamacker"The part of my recovery plan that I would say made up 80% is MDJ. I suffered a lot prior to finding MDJ, felt alone and had no one to talk to who really understood me. In the Bipolar Group I found like minded individuals who I could relate to and who offered support to me when I needed it. As I recovered, I could then offer support to them which gave me a good feeling about myself. I have met some great people here who I would class as good friends and know I would still be in the slump I was in without them. Now I am stable, I know that MDJ plays an important part in keeping me that way. Thank you MDJ for being there for us all and making us no longer feel alone." (liamacker)

What does a 1:1280 Positive Homogeneous rating mean to anyone here? I've read online and that could be a sign that I a person has lupus.

I know everyone is different but what meds help?

Have you been diagnosed with lupus Jennifer? You would need to see a rheumatologist for diagnosis & treatment.

Hi Jennifer. Lupus can be very hard to diagnose. It can't be done just with lab work. If you think you might have it you need to go to a rheumatologist. They are generally the best to treat and diagnose lupus. We all on different meds because lupus affects all of us differently. Someone with heart problems will get other drugs then someone with joint pain. Sorry that I couldn't answer your question.

Jennifer. We aren't trying to be difficult....lupus is difficult to diagnose. Unlike other diseases, there is no single test. Best to make an appointment with a rheumatologist.

hi jennifer. my pc doc had been running lots of tests for years in response to my complaints (thyroid, lyme, etc.) and he finally ran the ana test, which came back very high with a speckled pattern. the only thing that he told me was that i needed to see a rheumy, which i did and was diagnosed with lupus. when i went back to the pc and told him he advised that he thought that too but didn't want to confirm it as it was not his field. i really respect him for his honesty and for allowing the correct doc to run more tests to come up with a positive diagnosis. i would have to agree with the other responses that you have gotten - you should really see a rheumy if you suspect that you may have lupus. good luck to you! wendy

Hi Jennifer, as the other ladies said it takes more than just the positive ANA diagnose Lupus. There are tons of auto-immune diseases out there so it can be time consuming to get a diagnosis. Are you seeing a rheumy? That is where my PCP sent me when I had a positive ANA and other health complaints.

Take Care,

Amy
