Hello, I am new and very glad to be here. I was diagnosed with SLE when I was 15 and am now 32. I have never been in remission.I also have Fibromyalgia, Raynouds, Vasculitis, Neuropothy, Sjogrens,Lupus Nephritis,RA, degenerative disk disease and today i found out I need another back surgery and that I have osteoporosis in my spine and right hip.I try to live life to the absolute fullest when I can. I have two kids a 3 yr old and a 9 yr old. I am an opera singer and get a lot of work, it's very hard because I have to hide the fact that I am sick or I won't get hired. I have a team of wonderful doctors down at UCLA that help me out quite a bit, I am sort of being treated for quality instead of quantity. There are days when I can't get out of bed, I don't have much support because when I tell people they don't believe I am sick because I do so much. It's wonderful to have a place to be myself. I look forward to getting to know all of you. |
