Hello, I am new and very glad to be here. I was diagnosed with SLE when I was 15 and am now 32. I have never been in remission.I also have Fibromyalgia, Raynouds, Vasculitis, Neuropothy, Sjogrens,Lupus Nephritis,RA, degenerative disk disease and today i found out I need another back surgery and that I have osteoporosis in my spine and right hip.I try to live life to the absolute fullest when I can. I have two kids a 3 yr old and a 9 yr old. I am an opera singer and get a lot of work, it's very hard because I have to hide the fact that I am sick or I won't get hired. I have a team of wonderful doctors down at UCLA that help me out quite a bit, I am sort of being treated for quality instead of quantity. There are days when I can't get out of bed, I don't have much support because when I tell people they don't believe I am sick because I do so much. It's wonderful to have a place to be myself. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

I totally understand when people do not believe you are sick, I also have SLE and it is very difficult to me to get out of bed in the morning and then cover all my red cheeks and nose in order to go to work!
