Hi, I need some help, I need some opinions. I am on disability and not doing well at all and all of a sudden out of nowhere about 4 weeks ago these painful headaches start which r not relieved by otc drugs nor narcotics they come everyday plus with light sensitivity, weakness, EXTREME fatigue and i go to my doc and she draws blood and calls me with result and says I have a positive ANA result. Referred me to a specialist and said it is pointing to lupus and she wants him to diagnos me and tell me which one i have. I woke up yesterday and everything stopped all at once......is that weird??? Or is that normal with Lupus?Positive ANA test, Headaches daily, sensitivity to light, extreme fatigue, rashes (unexplained), nausea at times, vision problems, dizziness at times, weakness all over. neck, back, and shoulder pain stiffness tightness. What do u think????

HI and welcome to the group. Perhaps you could ask your treating doctor for a referral to see a rheumatologist, who is qualified to diagnose and treat autoimmune diseases. I wish you success in finding the right doctor and treatment for your illness.

Take care.

Marie

Welcome to the group! It's great to have you here. Some people can have a false positive but with your symptoms I doubt it. I am no dr though. Like Marie said seeing a Rheumy is best, they are specialized in Lupus cases. The symptoms also come in flares so that may be why one day they were there and another they weren't. I wish you the best of luck. Stacey Wink

Hi and welcome to the group. Lupus presents a little different for everyone. A rheumy is the best to treat lupus. Also autoimmune diseases tend to group together. If you have one, you may have more. But, if you any questions, just ask. We will try share any info we have, as fellow patients.

Hello and welcome to the group. You will find much support here. Is the doctor your PCP referred you to a rheumatologist? Sounds like something for their specialty. Your symptoms certainly sound like lupus but it is a hard disease to diagnose, your rheumy will likely do more blood work and a thorough exam. I'm glad your symptoms have subsided and hope they stay under control for you.

Take Care,

Amy

Hi Laura....welcome to this fantastic support site. You will meet some wonderful and caring people here who knows what it's like to live with Lupus on a daily basis. I agree with these ladies that you really should see a rheumatologist as they are the ones to treat Lupus. Anytime you have any questions or want to vent, cry or just to share someone is always on or you can PM any of us at anytime. Wishing you well

Eva
