I have been off my meds for almost 1 year now. Nothing bad has happend. So why should I continue to take my plaquinell?? Its going to blind me in the long run. So why bother. My other meds were like bandaids too. I think that my body will be fine for the next couple of years, and then maybe rear its ugly head again like it always has done. Anyone else tired of taking meds. Has anyone else stopped without bad consiquences.

I'm tired of taking my meds too. I still take the plaquenil but I did stop taking the Methotrexate. I stopped taking the plaquenil for about 3 months but I did experience problems. The methotrexate slows down your metabolism so I am having a really hard time getting rid of the weight that I gained from taking prednisone. I have often thought of stopping the meds again, but I am just not sure. Plus my husband would freak out, he makes sure I take them every day.

i to feel like a walking drug store, i take plaquenil, prednison, methotraxate, prozac, xanex, vitamins, calcium supplements, folic acid, etc. I just had a bad reaction to the methotraxate this weekend and will not take it in the future, however, i just feel like stopping all the drugs and see what happens,i must say i am scared to stop everything, im just so tired, depressed, and constantly in a brain fog. Im sure when i talk to my rheumy next week he'll suggest something to replace the methotraxate. Anyways i know how you feel, take care and know you are not alone.
