Has anyone found an effective pain med for dealing with muscle cramps? I have not been able to tollerate Neurontin, Lyrica of keppra. My (soon to be former) rhummy has only prescribed the above plus celebrex and I can barely move some days. She flatly refuses to prescribe anything narcotic. Any ideas besides find a new rhummy? Or is there another specialist I need to find? I also have fibro. HELP.

Hello psk, I take Mobic 15mg every night before bed. It helps somewhat but doesn't relieve the pain entirely. I have tried alot of meds. also but just cant seem to find one to take the pain away. I started to do pilates and yoga, and it does really help with the pain.

I wish I could help more.

Has your most recent lab work included Potassium level? Leg Cramps can be alleviated potassium-rich foods and/or supplements (don't take the latter without consulting your doctor).

My neurologist prefers my Potassium level around 4.8, just a hair above normal due to the neuromuscular disease.

My rheumatologist told me that refined sugar is very bad for the joint for lupus and arthritis patients.

I notice when I cut out refined sugar and go easy on the natural sugars (i.e., fructose, sucrose...) I feel a better in some aspects; specifically, decreased joint pain.
