"Lupus Awareness" (kam123)

MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is somewhere i feel safe i feel i can be myself and not be judged. I love the fact that i get to see that im not alone in what i am going through and i also get the chance to help others on their journey through guidance and communication.
I would truly be lost without MDJunction... to me its my savior, my personal place to go where i don’t feel so alone anymore in the world.

I just got back from the rhummy. I've been seeing her mostly for fibromyalgia, but have tested positive for lupus and been taking plaquenil. I thought I was having a fibro flare, but my kidneys were sore and swollen and she thinks I'm having a lupus flare. I'm waiting for the results of a STAT blood test and I'm scared of what will happen next.

My prayers are with you. Its hard waiting for results, its the unknown that scares us. Whatever the results are the doctor will know how to treat you. Its hard to do but I believe that with positive thinking and prayer you will get through this. I'm in a flare right now and my rheumy increased some of my meds and still now up to par. I want you to know that your not alone. I will be praying for you.

With Blessings,

Eva

If you haven't gotten your hands on a copy of "The Lupus Book" by Daniel J. Wallace, Chief of Rheumatology at Cedars Sinai Hospital, please purchase, borrow from a friend or search your local library for a copy of this book. It will tell you anything and everything you need to know about lupus...all forms and subsets. You should also write to the American Lupus Foundation of America. They will send you lots of information on lupus, advocacy programs, for no charge.

I understand your apprehension. Understand that it is fear of the unknown that most times scares the dickens out of us. Once you become familiar with your treatments and what lupus is and is not, you will still not like the idea of having lupus, but you'll not be so afraid. Knowledge is power.

Good luck to you.
