So i found out a year and a half ago that I have lupus and didnt think too much about it then. I knew my mom died from it but I knew I took care of myself and was feeling fine that I just didnt think of it then. Last week I was having real bad chest pains, headaches and hard time breathing. Found out I had inflamation around my heart from the lupus. Now I freak out with everything. I have a hard time breathing and feel tired still. I think to myself that im gonna be like my mom and die before I can see my kids grow up. If I get a headache I make myself crazy!! I can't sleep and get upset with everyone around me. I know I shouldn't be stressing myself out but I really bothers me. Thought maybe talking to people with same problems could help me get through this.

Hi,

About six months ago I started experiencing really sharp pains in my chest when breathing and shortness of breath. I am almost symptom free from my Lupus and have been for four years but everynow and then weird things will happen!!! I freaked out and thought all the worst things and it turned out I had inflammation of the tissue and lining of the lungs etc. Didn't sound all that flash and was a little concerning I must admit. I attribute much of my current good health to staying as positive as possible. I know at times that it is really hard to do at times but it is so important. You need to live your life with Lupus considered as just an annoying thing you have to deal with. Focus on your kids and spending time with them. Surround yourself with positive people and activities you enjoy. I hope you begin to feel better soon.

Jaime

Hi, I'm new to this board but wanted to let you know that I find it VERY helpful to talk to others going through the same things. I'm glad your reaching out, its a lot to deal with and IS scarey when you don't know what's going on with your body. I've been living with lupus for 10 years now, so I've had some pretty scarey stuff to go through. Having a good rheumy is extremely important, so I hope you have one who can talk to and that listens to you. Also, to deal with anxiety and depression, talking to a counselor has helped me tremendously! I wish I would've done it when I was first diagnosed, things would've gone a lot smoother for me. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know your not a lone in this fight and I'm here if you need to vent

Hugs,

Jayne
