Hello everyone. Um this might be alittle long. I'm sorry but there's been alot thats been going on with me in the past couple years and im not sure if it could be Lupus. I am making a doctors appointment to try to see whats going on with me. I am 24 yrs old. I just want to list the symptoms i've been having the past couple years and if you could tell me if this could possibly be Lupus??

I never got a migraine untill i was pregnant with my daughter. Sometimes i get them alot, sometimes acouple months will go by. I've been getting bad canker sores in my mouth the last couple months. Im getting these red bumps on my skin, i have a couple scars from them. My face gets bumps and looks almost like acne, which i had never gotten, i used to have clear skin. I've gotten dizzy so bad to where i've fallen acouple times. My sides are hurting me off and on the last couple years, i get pain in my chest. And sometimes when i breathe in its a bad pain. I had a miscarriage acouple months ago. My vision is sometimes hazy. My head feels weird sometimes like a fog. Not like im totally confused but its hard to explain. I've had some fevers and im not sure why. i'll get some pains in my back sometimes. As for being tired, i am more tired than usual but not unbearable. I'll be so tired but when i try to sleep i can not. ive been getting some sores or bumps on my scalp. Oh and i almost forgot i had an aunt that had Lupus. Sorry sooo long any help would be much appreciated

Hey there,

I would definetley get an appt. as soon as you can...If you can't get into a Rheumatologists right away I would try a family doctor and request that they do bloodwork specifically for auto-immune diseases...my family doctor diagnosed me 5 years ago and referred me to the Rheumatologist....sometimes you have to tell them what to do that way they won't do 5 million other things first.....Lupus symptoms are so similar to other illnesses that the doctors tend to lean more towards depression and chronic fatigue before they even do any tests.....that is what happened to me until i came in with swollen glands and then they pulled my bloodwork......I hope you have good luck with your doctor and as I said earlier get them to DO BLOODWORK...it will save you and them alot of time and hassle.

Hi,

I would definitely have the rheumatologist do blood work for lupus. There are several tests they can do.

I've had lupus for about 15 years. It took alot of tests to determine I had lupus. My daughter is pregnant with her first baby (5 months along) and has been having similar symptoms like yours. I encouraged her to have her baby doctor do alot of blood work. After the baby is born she is going to see a neurologist because she has been having headaches and problems with her eyes and speech. I have central nervous system lupus which has caused me to have brain bleeds. I too see a neurologist and rheumatologist. When you see a rheumatologist you need to be firm its your body. Take Care

Eva

A rheumatologist diagnosis and treats people with arthritis and other diseases of the joints, muscles, and bones. Most of them due very thorough screenings (i.e. blood work, tests, and the usual poking, and prodding).

Most family physicias can do some blood work to have a general idea for like arthritis. But the rheumy will do a much more thorough blood check-up and reall dig down deep in those blood tests to try and get to the bottom of things.

Find one that you think you'll feel comfortable with. Ask around to others that maybe go see one. I have come across so many unhappy people, they don't like their doctor. - I am very fortunate to have a great rheumy. And they are out there. So if you have someone that's not helping you- don't feel guilty in looking for another one.

Well, I guess I just gave you a long explanation to your short question. Sorry about that.

I also wanted to welcome you to the group, so Welcome! We're glad you're here!

Amy
