MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

So, I offered to drive a friend to the airport. No big deal right? Well, the day AFTER, was like hell on wheels. I had intense pain in my right foot that would travel up to my knee. It was on and off all day, and of course it was Father's Day, and we were playing at a park. I just limped along and let Sabou play with her Daddy.

Has anyone else had this reaction to driving? I'm just assuming it was the driving, since the right foot is the foot that does everything.

My wife has similar issues. You might want to get tested for ilial tibial band syndrome. It's a tendon that attaches from the glutenous maximum muscle, and runs down the outside of the leg. It can cause pain all the way to the foot in

severe cases.

I have achilles tendonitis both sides. Apparently nothing can be done but cortisone injections, or just wait it out till it breaks - I have had physio with no response, it's too far gone for that Sad Been pretty good lately as I have been 'off my feet' at work and have changed shoes.. but today driving home, my left one (for clutch/brake here in aus) suddenly started to ache. Apparently my Achilles is frayed and 'torn' on the lhs, on the right not such a problem. I ache all the way up to the knee from it but the obvious pain is in the ankle. I doubt my weekend will include much walking around, was lucky to get home as it was Sad( I use a walking stick when it's bad to stay off it - might be an idea. It does help.

Depends where your pain is what is wrong, but driving can cause injuries if a particular area is susceptible.

Hope it heals up well soon!

My foot surgeon thinks that the Lupus is breaking down my tendons and even though I had surgery on both feet the left one still is swollen and now I have a bone spur on the back of the heel....it hurts sometimes when I am on my feet alot....I told my surgeon I would never have surgery again as it was horrible....the first one was but the second one was better as he used a wound-vac and it helped speed up the recovery. The first one was so bad that I had to learn to walk all over again and it took at least 6 months of therapy in water and in the room.....so it could be from the Lupus, the things we all go thru.
