I had my follow up appointment with my Rheumatologist at Duke on January 27th. I am still waiting for labs to roll in online but I am to start Methotrexate and Folic Acid today. I briefly googled the side effects of Methotrexate knowing that the internet tends to give you a lot of worse case scenarios and, over hypes situations...

I know a lot of you have been on it and just wondering what your experiences were. I know we are all different but it still helps me to info share ((HUGS)) to all of you. ~ Juile

H, I have not been on for a while but wanted to comment or reply to you. I started Methotreate and folic acid about 3-months ago too. I too read all the bad stuff on the internet and I was really not sure. I have done well with it I only get a little nauseated the first day and dierrea but not bad and not all day. I take 3-pills twice a week for now. Hope this helps you.

Julie......I wishnyounthe best with Methotrexate. I haven't been on it in years as with me it seems to cause elevated liver enzymes.......I think because I had been on it for several years, years ago it didn't help my liver. The only thing I noticed while taking it was I would get nauseous for a few days but I would take an anti-nausea pill and it helped, I think it was leucavoran.....I am taking a very small amount of Imuran right now with the Rituxan and it makes me nauseous and I take Compazine to help me with that and it works great. I also get eleated liver enzymes with Imuran but since I am on such a low dosenit's not lik Metho was.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I was a little confused on the RX directions vs. how I "thought" the Dr. told me to take it. I didn't realize it was a Chemo Drug How did I not know this?... I am being Optimistic and crossing my fingers for good measure

I have been on Methotrexate for awhile now and I take 8pills 1 time a week so 4 in the morning and 4 at nite,also folic acid, I just still don't know about it....so good luck and (hugs)
