I post on the Lyme Disease forum...but I have a question. I had a rash in Aug of 2004 and had not been tested for Lyme until a couple of months ago. Western blot was IgM positive, with P41 and P23 bands and IgG negative, only showing P41 bands. I was treated first course of doxy and then went to an Infectious Disease doctor..who looked at the blood work and said I don't have Lyme.

I picked up my medical records yesterday from 2004-current (there were ALOT of dr. visits). My main complaint since at least 2003 was fatigue and constipation. I was apparently diagnosed with Raynaud's Syndrome and have Cardia Tachy and PVCs from a Holtor test I had done in 2003. I was supposed to follow up and do a DEXA scan for osteoporosis and arthritis, but I never did.

I know the Lyme Western blot is possible to cross-react with other immune disorders...and after looking at my records, I am afraid I may have Lupus...or am I just completely freaking out for no reason?

What are the other indications that you saw when you were being diagnosed? I have plenty of symptoms that point to Lyme, but could also be other things.

Please help!

All of those auto-immune diagnosis's seem to over lap to one degree or another. I was very lucky. I went to a doctor for hair loss and he was familiar with lupus. And I was diagnosed right away. I never had to go through all the doctors, all the testing before someone really was able to pull everything together. But, from the beginning the sun and temperatures always bothered me. Tiredness, joint swelling and of course the butterfly rash was some of my first symptoms. I hope you find a doctor that can figure it out for you.

Thank you for your reply, Ali.

I saw a doctor over the weekend that took blood to test for Lyme again and all of the immune disorders that can cross-react. I felt very confident about him. I wish I felt better, but hopefully I am on the right track this time.
