Really worried about this. My vision has gotten so bad in the last year that I dreading the results of this exam. I'm probably going to have plaquinil dose reduced too. I was in bad shape before I started it.

Hello. I just went through an eye exam, again, and they found out that my field of vision has changed. They are thinking it's the beginning of Glaucoma. But, at least we got to it early, if that's what it is. I go back on Monday for more tests to see if the change was a true change. Even if you are afraid of results, sometimes knowing gives you options you don't have when you don't know.

MK....I just had an eye exam and my eyes looked good except for that I am starting to have astigmatism SP?? anyhow I ended up getting what they call "Progressive Digital Glasses"......they don't have the line in them and I have adjusted very well to them. So now I don't have to have two sets of glasses...one for reading and the other for far away.

MK, I am going this week for my exam to. My rheumy wrote a script with all the different tests she wants done for the Lupus and Plaquenil testing. I have been procrastinating and I notice vision changes and I really have put this off its so important. Let us know how it goes and I will let you know as well. Good luck.

unripping it is so important to make sure that the vision issues aren't related to the Plaquenil. I just got the script from my rheumy and she said there are specific tests they need to do for Lupus and Plaquenil. Let us know how your appt goes. Good luck to you to.

Thanks to everyone, and yes, J3man, I am getting old. I think that's why the whole Glaucoma thing doesn't freak me out. I mean my mom's had it for years and she just takes her eye drops and she can drive and everything. I don't know what tests are distinctly for Plaquenil, but when I go to the doctor it's like one machine after another. The field of vision is the one I remember the best. Let's all keep each other posted on all these eye exams. It's so nice not to go through it alone.

Hi unripping. I have noticed a reduction in the quality of my vision too since I have been on the Plaquenil (and it's definitely due to the Plaquenil because I have been taken off Plaquenil and my vision was great then). I have to be "monitored" for the Plaquenil visual effect too by my eye doctor. Why is there not a drug to keep the lupus at bay without making us blind? Life's so unfair sometimes..... Ggrrrr......

I had my eyes checked today and it hasn't changed and like Pandora said about making sure that the changes aren't due to Plaqunil. I have a scan in two months to check the build up in my eyes and Brian, yes, I am at the age when my vision is going to start changing due to age.

I am also at that age "unripping". I found out my eyes were deteriorating when I went to my "Pre-Plaquenil Eye Exam". I haven't started back on the Plaquenil. After finding out that my eyes were "healthy" but that I was having vision problems WITHOUT being on Plaquenil, it made me wonder if it was due to the other "trial and error" medications they have been experimenting with on me. It was only 2 or 3 years ago that I had near perfect vision. Plaquenil.......NASTY stuff! My first experience with it was 25 years ago when it was in it's trial stages. I was one of the first Lupus sufferers to be prescribed it. It made me SICK! LOL! Little Brother Lupus, BRYAN
