I think I can honestly say that today is the first day, since I was diagnosed with Lupus, that I woke up and can say that I am sore (throbbing) in different areas all over (Feet, shins, knees, tummy, ribcage, arms, elbows, wrists). I know that my immune system is angry because I am on an antibiotic Angry I usually don't need to take any pain medicine but today I am going to have to break into it.

I can't wait to finish this antibiotic so that my system will settle down!! I know this comes up often on our forum so thanks for letting me vent about it.

Lupus has taken much from me but as long as my heart still beats, it has not taken everything!

Good morning ncgirl! Vent away! LOL! I have a theory about antibiotics and Lupus medications and have observed MANY situations that are identical to your own. I hope that your pain goes away and that you get feeling better soon. If you would like to know more about my theory, PM please. Little Brother Lupus, Bryan

My Rheumy called and said STOP the antibiotic and we will try a different one. He thinks that I am sensitive to this particular one and that (on top of the boost to the immune system) it is causing the multiple symptoms... So basically, what we all have said all along Smile Lupus and antibiotics don't love each other very much...

I am breaking up with Cephalexin for now and resting today Wink Camping out with my laptop so can get caught up on the MDJ forum. Woot!

So sorry you have to take an antibiotic! That is torture for us Lupies! I'm glad you talked with your doc and it is being changed. I hope the new meds don't make you as sick. Get lots of rest!

Antibiotics are horrible for us but I hope this new one your doctor puts you on will help you.....so sorry to hear that every inch of your body is hurting.

I can't do antibiotics. Everytime I go to a new doctor, I tell them that. But they are always convinced that there is a different kind of antibiotic that I *will* be able to take. I take it, and one day later I will have a rash from head to toe and loose bowels. Then they have to give me steroids to get rid of the rash! On the plus side, it is bad enough to make me forget the illness I was given the antibiotics for!Dizzy
