its been over a month ive been on here. i was really sick and went to the local hospital then transferred to ucsf where they thought theyd be able to do more..they couldnt. so i was transferred back where apparently i was in so much pain. with my tummy problems strectching over 2 years they decided to operate...ucsf thought it was too dangerous. they found a cyst containing 2 liters of liquid and my appendix was inflammed, so the removed both. im having a hard time coping and healing. i feel hopeless and just think negatively. i hurt and so depressed. i feel like all i had was my looks and now thats gone. i wanna just give up and keep thinking why me? i dont want this on anyone but its not fair. i never think im going to heal and ive wasted so much time. cant work, cant finsih school, depend on my mom, feel like a burden. its just tooooo much. all the dr appts, med refills, lab work, etc...idk what to do anymore

jmar22,

wow, it sounds like you have been through a lot lately. I know it's hard NOT to look at the whole picture, but try and take one day at a time. Focus on getting well first. Listen to your body and don't give up. That is not the answer. We all have our setbacks and feel down. Just remind yourself that you WILL get better. Lupus is not a death sentence, just an obstacle that we ARE strong enough to defeat. I agree it is NOT fair, but everyone is dealt a challenge in life, and this is ours. Staying positive will help you heal faster and it's proven that it decreases pain. Try and get up and move around frequently. Focus on what helped you before the surgery. Music, a good book, walks outside, getting fresh air, buying a pretty shirt. I hope you can get a fresh start this afternoon, take a deep breath and say I CAN DO IT.

Lynnette

I know it is hard when you are in this position. I think most of us have been there at one time or another. Hopefully you will start feeling better soon. Just hang in there, take your meds and we are always here for you.

Hi jamar. It's so good to hear from you again. I'm glad your doctors have removed the appendix in time (and the cyst); it would be awful if the appendix bursts and your doctors are misled to think the tummy pain is due to the lupus. It would be hard for the wounds to heal whilst you are taking MTX. The scars are only cosmetic, and it would not be seen underneath your clothing. The most important thing is that you are alright out of all these troubles. Perhaps your doctors could treat you properly for the lupus now that all the intervening complications are eliminated. Everyone have to rely on their families many times in their lives, due to diseases, family & personal problems - that is what families are for - to give support when you need them. So when you recover from surgery and get better, you will return that support in their times of need. Everything seems hectic right now, with all the treatments and doctors visit, but these will soon pass, and you will spring back to your normal self to catch up with all the things you have missed e.g school, families, friends, etc.... Wishing you the best, Marie Smile

Hi Jamar, I am glad you checked in. I know this is a really difficult time and you have been through so much but try to be positive. I think having those two major issues taken care of could be exactly what you needed to start to feel better. I know it is a challenge and at times you just get tired of having to go through it but we all go through this and will be here for support. I will pray for a speedy recovery for you.
