Hello All,

I have a question. We all see eye doctors if we are on plaquenal and most of us wear eye glasses.

My question is "Do you get eyeglasses at your eye doctors?" Do you ever use Eye Mart or Walmart to buy glasses?

I just want to be able to get my glasses for a cheap price but a "Good Pair" of glasses.

Thanks for your input!!Wink

Hi Gen! I'm the gal with Lupus who also works in ophthalmology... You can definitely get your glasses at any optical shop you want. I would recommend getting your glasses prescription from your actual eye doctor, then take it to one of the optical shops you prefer. I feel you will get a better refraction from your doctor who is familiar with you and your other health problems rather than a "run of the mill" optical shop that can tend to quickly do through a refraction.

Tillie,

I'm glad I asked. I got the right person to tell me!! I will see my own eye doctor. I'm really careful to see the right eye doctor. I have really bad eyes and a lot going wrong (like my whole body LOL) with them. I just need to find a cheaper way to by the glasses.

Thank you very much for answering me.

Has anyone tried to buy glasses at Walmart?

Gen

Hi Gen. I think if you get your eye glasses prescription from your optometrist, and then order your glasses online, then you could get better bargains for your eye glasses. There is the problem of fitting, because the optometrist could help you to select a frame suitable to your nasal bridge, and fit the glasses to sit correctly on your nose so that you could have a correct field of vision. That's what I think, but if you know the size of your nasal bridge and the width of your glasses (& other specs), you could just order the size & style of glasses you want online, and ask your local optometrist to adjust the glasses later.

Sounds like you got your question answered by the experts! I wish you luck on finding a good pair. The ones I'm wearing now have some puppy chew marks in the left lens, can make looking down blurry, LOL.

Best of luck,

Amy
