Hello, everyone!

I first wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, filled with love, family, and our Savior who came to save us all from ourselves! This morning has been amazing for me, after being really ill last night (we have a flu bug going around down here in my hometown), I got to spend the morning with my siblings, mom and dad. Laughing

I wanted to share this all with you, because I got a messages from the LFA on facebook about this song that Julian Lennon and James Scott Cook wrote for Lupus. The song is called LUCY, and is dedicated to Lucy Vodden, who was the inspiration for the song "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds," who passed away last year at the age of 46 after a long, hard battle with lupus. The song is also dedicated to James' 92-year-old grandmother, who is also named Lucy, who has lupus as well. From December 15 to March 15, every download on this song on iTunes will be donated to the LFA in the US, and to the St. John Lupus Trust in the UK. I fell in love with this song, so I definitely needed to share this with all of you! I think this year has been amazing in terms of the gains for Lupus for it's awareness and research. Here is the song for you all!

As far as my news for the Lupus is concerned, I'm back on prednisone for a five day stint, because all of the rain in the southwest really did a number on me, and my pointer fingers were swollen to the point where I couldn't even bend them. I'm feeling better with the prednisone, and am glad that I'm only on it for five days, I hope that's enough for my swelling to stay down. Love you all, and again, Merry Christmas!

Erin,

So glad you shared this song with us.....also, glad to hear that your spending Christmas with your family.....I wish you a Wonderful Christmas Evening. I also boosted my prednisone to 20 for 4 days and then dropped down to 10 for 4 days then to 5 then back to my usual 3. I started to feel pretty darn good then today my left knee started hurting again....have been limping all day.....just been on my leg too much....after the Holidays I will beable to stay off it for awhile.

Erin, thanks for sharing. Hope you feel better after your Prednisone boost.

Eva, same for you. I hope we can all finally get some rest. I love to see the holidays come but also love to see them go. I don't go out on New Years Eve so I am pretty much done. I do have a dinner that I am going to with a group of friends on New Years Day but that hopefully won't be a problem.

Yes Erin, that storm has put me in bed. What nasty week we had huh? Well, I haven't given into the prednisone yet. I'm still holding out. I'm glad you had a great Christmas.

I pray that all of you get through your flares soon. I woke up feeling pretty poorly with this cold so I just stayed home and rested pretty much in bed all day.

April.....Were just probably going over to our best friends house for dinner and maybe watch some movies.

Eva, seems we are all feeling gross. I think it is the stress of the holidays. We spend all this time shopping for 20 minutes of opening things. It is so much work. I didn't realize how tired I would be. I think this year I am buying gifts all year and saving them. I know people who do and say it is cheaper and less stressful at the same time. I was sick last year but I didn't have a name for it. Now that I know I have Lupus I feel less inclined to purposely torture myself. I tried it at first but it doesn't work out so well.

April....I think that is a good idea....buying all year long then were not rushing around while were feeling so bad getting all the Christmas gifts. I start making my gifts during the summer when I decide what to make so when it's time for Christmas I am pretty much done making my gifts. It keeps me busy all year long and I think my friends and family enjoy them.

I'm glad everyone liked the song! I know we're all feeling pretty down right now, the holidays have definitely taken their toll on all of us! D: It didn't help that the weather all over the country went haywire! According to my friends in Georgia, they had their first white-ish Christmas.

Lynnette, the rain here was insane! I don't EVER remember getting six consecutive days of rain in Nevada in my ENTIRE life (I've lived in Nevada almost my entire 23 years). We had entire roads shut down, taking the freeway was like asking for an accident, it was really freaky, and boy did it swell me up! The prednisone was a Godsend for me, because my fingers were really almost scary looking, once I get back to my Uncle's house, I'll upload the pictures to show you all (because I'm lame and I document all of this kind of thing to show the Rheumy later).

April and Eva, I like the idea of buying and making Christmas presents way in advance! I'm actually starting on the presents for my mom and dad next year, I'm drawing a portrait of them with each of their kids. Smile That's ten portraits, but I'm excited about it, because I think it will definitely help me get my hands back into the swing of drawing! You guys are all awesome, I hope you know!

Erin,

You are not crazy at all. I take pictures of all my "mishaps" also; rashes, swelling, etc. I think it's the only way we can prove who or what we have become. LOL.

I finally had to get a shot of Depomedrol today. I'm waiting patiently for the results.
