Has anyone experienced hair loss? I have been on prednisone (40mg down to 10mg) for 7 mos. Arava and CellCept for 2 mos. My hair has been falling out for about a month. It is getting very thin. I think it is a side effect of the prednisone... Just wondering if anyone less has had this problem.

I thought maybe it was a seasonal change thing... my hair is everywhere except my head. I'm on Cortef (non-synthetic steroid)-didn't think I would have the same symptom's, but apparently it is so... also with that dang weight gain....

0r losing hair could be one of the manifestations of having Lupus..I' been reading medical books about Lupus and i read that losing hair is the one. I was taking prednisone before and my hair starts to fall down probably because my lupus is so active that time and I took steroid that made me gain weight and gave me a moon face! Don't worry it will grow back.

I noticed that my hair is everywhere these days. I don't have patches falling out or anything but I notice the amount of hair in my brush is increasing like crazy. When I brush my hair in the bathroom there is usually a ton in the sink. I think is one of Lupus' wonderful symptoms as I am presently not on any medications (yet).

my hair is everywhere too, when Im brushing my hair its in the sink and on the floor, but my hair is still thick and continuous from growing. Sometimes I am only thinking probably the shampoo that I am using is not good but whatever kinds of shampoo and conditioner Im using it is still the same.During my first year of having Lupus I feel like Im getting bald. But not now.. What kind of Lupus do you have? How long do you have Lupus?

I have Systemic Lupus. I was diagnosed a year ago but have been suffering for about 8 years. I just found out about 2 weeks ago that my kidneys are showing signs of being involved. My Rheumatologist wants to put me on Plaquenil and he is sending me to a kidney specialist. I don't want to take any drugs, I'm totally against pharmaceuticals they scare the crap out of me. I'm going to a second Rheumatologist tomorrow for a second opinion.

Know what..all you have to do is think that we can control this disease. Don't let your disease control you. We have the same type of Lupus. My rheuma found out that my left hip is damage. I am now walking like a grandma as if the other leg is short. The pain is always there everytime I walk so he requested me to go for Physio theraphy. I hope it helps. It made me cry when he said that Im gonna need a hip replacement not anytime soon but on the coming years. That freaked me out..but i have a strong faith to God. I keep on holding on to his promises that he is not gonna leave me until He is done giving everything we need and everything that He promised. Do you believe in God?
