I get that way too the achiness and the exhaustion. I just stay in bed and try to get some rest. I know about the frustration I think we all get that way at times. I know its hard to stay in bed especially if you have to work luckly for me we run a business and I can do all my work at home so if I feel the flares coming I just try to get alot of rest and try to go to bed early and get some good sleep although when your in a flare thats hard to do is get some sleep. So I really don't know what to say except know that we are here for you to vent or whatever you need. What types of medication are you on? Do you keep in contact with your doctor? I know sometimes my doctor would bump my prednisone up to 20 mgs. for three days to get me thru the flares. It seems to help me. Please let us know how your doing.

I agree with Eva, try to get plenty of rest.

I have actually been in a flare for about 4 wks. now myself. I finally went to my doctor last week and she put me on a antidepressant so I could actually get some rest. I am up all hours of the night because I am in so much pain. I feel like screaming.

I've been taking the antidepressant for a week now and it just started working about 2 days ago. I actually slept through the night for the first time in months. Of course I still have some pain but atleast I am getting some rest. They say rest is your best medicine. So try to get as much as you can.

Keep us informed.

Trudy

Thanks for the replies. It is nice to know that there are alot of people who know how I feel. I do keep in contact with my doctor. It has been a few mnths though and I need to go in again. I am seeing an integrative medicine MD who has me on mostly non-synthetic meds such as Cortisol steroid. backed up from work. I work full time and am on intermittent FMLA so I'm OK getting to take sick time off when needed. But I end up feeling so stressed thinking about my work load. It's just very frustrating and I don't want to be sick. I would love to get through a few mnths without having a flare, but I have a feeling my job stress is playing a huge part of it. Thank you so much for your feedback.

Im fairly new here. Just wanted to say I can empathize with you about flares. Mine is going on 10 weeks now. The pain and exhaustion is horrible. Walking is nearly impossible. Sleep? Whats that?

I hope you dont mind me jumping right in...

Take care and hope we all feel better soon.

I agree with everyone else. Try and get lots of rest. And I know this might sound silly. But, make sure you're drinking plenty of water and juices.

One thing that helps me is to soak in the bath tub. I know some people can't handle that, but it works for me. So you might try that.

We'll be thinking about ya. Be sure to keep us informed on how you're doing.
