hi everyone, just having a symptom thats new and scaring me a little. i've been feeling this heavy feeling in my chest and it feels like i'm not getting a good deep breath. doesnt hurt when i breathe in. but does feel strange when i talk a few sentences. all the way up to my throat i feel this. i have had asthma atttacks in the past when i smoked.quit almost 4 years ago. and still get cold induced asthma. feels like that but i dont have a cold and it get better and worse throughout the day. this has been happening since last friday. could it be fluid in my lungs or around my heart. if anyone had those problems is what i'm describing sound like that could be it? going to the docs tomorrow but just wondering what you all think. THANKS!!

That sounds pretty similar to my experience with fluid around the heart. Do you get short of breath when you walk up a flight of stairs? Let us know how it turns out. Good luck!

i do get short of breathe even talking. thats why its freaking me out. i went to my primary doc. my rhuemy is on vaca till sept 15. anyway said it was allergies causing asthma. so he gave me claritan and told me to use my albuterol inhaler and gave me a low dose steroid.

i dont know if i believe that. we'll see

wow thats a tough one. i don't have asthma so shortness of breath is a definite warning sign for heart problems for me. Hope your symptoms start getting better within a couple of days. If not definitely get that primary doc back on the phone!

i will thanks for the advice. my whole chest wall hurts today. i think its something other than asthma to be honest. i'm gonna call my other doc. i also just had an echo and a halter moniter on(just aweek or so ago) and never recieved a phone call yet. i think if they thought something was wrong in the heart department i would have heard by now. dont ya think?

yea an echo would likely show if your heart wasn't functioning properly. I know my one doctor saw the fluid around my heart from a CT scan, and i think an echo is more accurate. Its possible the cardiologist hasn't look at your echo yet. Good luck and keep us posted!

hello hun. I too have experianced your symptoms..and it became so severe, it moked a heart attack, I was rushed to eastside hosp. where they did a chemical stress test and found a problem at the bottom of my heart. Then they transferred me to ST.Joseph's where I could be seen by a heart specialist. two more days on my back, needles needles needles, in my stomache, my arm, my hand, and oxygen on a constant basis as I had at Eastside and in the ambhlance too. and guess what?!!

AFTER THEY WENT INTO ME ( in the groin up against my "teasure box" * (( BLUSH ))and right at the main artery where they cant stich or clamp, and pressure had to be put on the spot by the nurses hand about 40 min. then I couldn't move my leg for 6 hours, then I accidently raised my leg slightly and I began to bleed heavily from that artery, ( they said it's dangerous to bleed like that, if I had been at home, I would have bled out and died. SOOOO....another 6 hours of pressure, this time with a sandbag believe it or not,

they found nothing wrong after all. they had me so scared for nothing.

now i'm trying to heal as my jeans squeeze the site it caused a litlle problem so now I wear running pants. I was told those symptoms was probably anxiety.

hope all goes well for you, I just had to let it out,
