I have had ALL the syptoms of SLE. I have had an ANA test that has come back positive, though my DNA was negative. I went to a dermatologist for a skin biopsy of the rash(es) on my arms and the biopsy was negative for lupus. But, the Dr. told me the test is only to test for skin Lupus. Is is possible to have SLE, but not skin Lupus?

Yes it is. I am that way. There are different types of Lupus. Discoid Lupus is the one that involves the skin. Systemic is the one that can affect the organs. I'm sure there's probably a name for the one that involves both, but I'm not sure without asking the doctor and/or researching.

I have a rare form of Lupus. I have discoid lupus (affects skin), with systemic (organs) symptoms and neg ANA's. I have had one TIA since being diagnosed, and have Hyperhomocysteinemia. Lupus was just the beginning.
