Who else out there ever get to the point where they have to go to the ER for pain relief. Or like me I also have lovely Kidney Stones (I have had over 140 of them). But you know when your lupus and your fibromyalgia pain get to the point that nothing is working and its the weekend and you are sick to your stomach so bad, you haven't ate because you can't keep anything down, you can't move because every joint in your body hurts do badly that its unexplainable. So you go to the ER for help, and instead you get "are you sure you are in pain or are you just looking for some pain killers"? Than you look at them and say I see more doctors than you can count and have more pills in a day to take than I want, do you really think I would want to waste my time coming all the way in here to get drugs that I could get easily from my doctor or that I already probably have that aren't working you dumb butt (well I say worse but you know). So you pull out your garbage bag full of prescriptions and your five subject note book full of doctors names and numbers, along with you medical history, because us lupus, fibromyalgia patient carry this idenification package with us at all times just in case of an emergency. Well after the front desk nurse gets done with you and makes you feel stupid because your not bleeding out of some orphus of your body or a bone isn't broke, she sends you back out to the waiting room to sit in pain. Than comes the fun part you get to deal with the lovely ER Doctor (The Man Himself) this man has not studied up on Lupus or Fibromyalgia because they don't care about it, its just not important enough to them. We don't matter, they catagorize us as drug seekers, because our condition doesn't show up on an X-Ray, or C Scan, oh they will run all the test and blood work and come back and give you the song and dance but you can tell they are just thinking "theres nothing wrong with this person, they are faking it" At least that is how I am made to feel at one hospital around my town and it has made me to the point that I will stay home and be in severe pain and my family has to carry me in before I will go. So I guess what I am trying to lengthy to say is if there is anyone else out there that goes throught the same thing your not alone.

I had to go into the ER a couple weeks ago for exactly what you said. I was completely brushed off. And since I have panic attacks also, I was told I was over reacting. Yeaaahh, I just bawl my head off and everything for fun, I'm not actually IN that amount of pain. The doctor came in, told me I see too many doctors and have too many things wrong with me, and said just go see your family doctor. Then said to leave, and wouldn't even help me out with a wheelchair or anything. Man, I just don't know what to do sometimes.
