I don't remember ever seeing a post about elbows. But I have elbows that hurt. I wasn't sure what this was all about so I asked my physical therapist about the anatomy of the elbow. Seems there is a bursa sack in the elbow joint. So I guess the lupus has hit yet another part of my body. I guess if it gets to be a big deal I can get a cortisone shot. Right now it is just annoying that this disease has moved yet again.

Anyone else have this problem?

Ya know Heidi I did have problems with both of my elbows about 2001 and they were so bad that my doctor had to inject them with cortisone which helped them out greatly.....I haven't had problems with them since that time.

Hello heidi hope you are feeling better.....and yes my elbows are hurting in fact both my arms hurt I can't even comb my hair in the morning let alone strap my bra on I have trouble with that because of pain and soreness in my elbows and hands and arms. Advil seems to help a little.

elbows, just another body part that lupus likes to attack. mine actually get to the point that i am unable to extend my arms straight out and if i happen to "forget" and reach for something it almost brings me to my knees. it will last for several days and switches from one to the other. seems that there isn't a body part that is immune to the lupus attacks/flares. hope everyone has a painfree, safe weekend! wendy

Wendy. Mine sort of do that too. Like if i extend my arm. Almost as if they sort of lock. sometimes they pop and it hurts so bad i cant even breath for a second. might even throw in a bad word lol jk haha But yea. mine hurt too and the lock and pop thing is painfully annoying (anyone else have the locking/popping with the pain)

Wendy, I hope you are feeling a little bit better by now. Isn't it crazy the things lupus can affect? just when you think you have all figured out, something new comes your way.

Wendy, I can relate to the elbow thing. Mine hurt a lot. But then my arms are a problem area for me. Sometimes I prop my arms on a pillow when I'm sitting up in bed. I may lay them on a heating pad and let the pad sit on the pillow. They hurt so much, I try anything. I just take my pain meds and pray that the pain will go away. Yep, just another joint that loves inflammation... Hope you feel better.
