has anyone had the sensation of biting and itching almost like stinging feeling? with no rash or redness. it comes and goes and drives me nuts.

also, wondering if a lot of people with lupus are sesitive to medications. i never used to be.(diagnosed almost 10 years ago) and now everything i take i get crazy side effects.

any ideas why this could be? and the itching ?

I have terrible itching to the point I get scars and scabs from scratching! But no idea why. But I do have redness and sometimes it looks like a rash. I am not sure what it could be from though. If you find out let me know!

I was diagnosed with syst. Lupus in May, put on Plaquinel in July and started to get the all over itches about two weeks ago. icalled my rheumy and he said stop the meds and call him in a week. That was almost a week ago and I'm still ithing, not looking good is it?Does that mean something is wrong with my kidneys?

usually the itchy all over is a liver thing i dont think it means anything with the kidneys.but i dont know for sure. i just know they tested my liver when i complained about this. but my mother was taking plaquinil and she got an all over body rash from it and had to stop taking the med. so that could be your problem. see if it goes away after another week or 2.

i was prescribed plaqunil but never took it,so i'm sure thats not where my itchiness is coming from.

The itching could definitely be a side effect from steroids (ie: prednisone/etc). It is actually more common than most doctors will admit.

sweetleaf- Just wondering how you're feeling? Did you figure out what was going on with the itching? Just thinking about ya.
