Hello my fellow lupies  So, this week I'm down to 10 mg of prednisone towards my goal of 7.5 mg. Rheumy says at the dosage the side effects should go away. I get tremors, high blood pressure, weight gain, swollen face from the prednisone. It is hard though, because of course my pain and fevers are worse. I really want to try to get it down. Also, my doc called me on Saturday about my lab tests. Apparently my methotrexate is still not at a therapeutic range after 10 weeks!! He is increasing it to 10 pills once a week and added the daily Imuran. He said my hair would fall out not for sure, which sucks. I just hope the swelling is down in my face before that happens! The Imuran is making me more nauseated, so now I'm nauseated every day not just the couple after the metho. I am really bummed that all this time the metho hasn't done anything. I knew it hadn't because I haven't felt any better!! I have been off work completely since Dec 9th and I just can't believe I'm still not better. I'm glad that I applied for the LTD since it looks like it is going to take a LONG time to get better. Speaking of the LTD, update is they are still waiting on info/forms from the last of 3 docs they requested from. I have called and left messages with the GI doctor also, haven't heard back. If it is approved my first paycheck would be next month, so I need them to finish and approve  Just giving a little update to you all. Take Care, Amy Diagnosed with Lupus in 2002. 36 yr old On: Plaquenil 2x a day, Cellcept 500mg 2x a day,Lasix 40mg 1xday, Prednisone 9 mg, Folic Acid 1mg, Vit D, Prilosec, Effexor 50mg 2x a day, Ativan 4 mg a day, DHEA, Methadone 2xday, Dilaudid 4mg, compazine, Imitrex, Doxepin,phenegran all as needed (prn).
Other diseases: Adrenal Insufficiency, Endometriosis, Crohn's Disease, Gastritis, Postherpetic Neuralgia, Raynauds, Sjogrens, chronic anemia, costochondritis, fibromyalgia.
