I am sorry you are going through a hard time. Stress is so bad for us lupies. I would suggest trying to find a rheumatalogist that has experience with lupus. Try to not seclude yourself. Depression can be part of lupus. It can be hard to get the right mix of drugs for each person.I wish you luck.

The most important thing is to get to a doctor that can help you.

Glen-

First of all, I want to give you a big pat on the back for raising a child on your own. You should be proud of yourself!

Now, I understand your need to work and to take care of that precious child. But please, please- find a good doctor. I know it takes time, but use your sick days, maybe work through lunch and leave early- something to make that happen.

I'm sure you've heard this before. But, your daughter needs you. If you don't take care of YOU- you won't be able to be there for her.

Coping is a tough thing. Coping with the illness, the depression, the anxiety, the sleep issues, etc.

A person with Lupus cannot go without proper treatment.

PLEASE, take care of yourself. Visit us often. We're here for you. You can ask more questions, share information, or even vent.

DEAR MISS AMY. DARLIN. I REALLY APPRECIATE THE INFORMATION AND INPUT YOU ARE GIVING ME. THE THING IS. IN MY LINE OF WORK. WE DO NOT GET SICK DAYS. MY TYPE OF WORK IS GRUELING. IT HAS NO BOUNDARIES AS TO THE EXTREMES WE HAVE TO ENDURE IN A DAYS TIME. WORKING IN THE OILFIELD IS VERY DEMANDING. I AM AN INDUSTRIAL XRAY TECHNICIAN. MY JOB IS IN HIGH DEMAND IN THE OIL INDUSTRY. THIS IS MY CAREER. I STARTED WHEN I WAS 16. IVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR THE PAST 28 YEARS. ITS ALL I KNOW. AND IM TOO OLD TO BE TRYING TO FIND A NEW CAREER. I DO UNDERSTAND MY DAUGHTER NEEDING ME. BUT IF I DONT WORK. I HAVE NO ONE NOR ANYTHING TO FALL BACK ON TO PAY MY BILLS AND FURNISH US A PLACE TO LIVE OR FEED US. I HAVE ALL OF THIS RIDING ON MY SHOULDERS. AND I HAVE TO KEEP GOING. BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO LET HER DOWN. SHE LOOKS HIGHLY TO ME. I MEAN WITH ALL OF THIS BURDENING ME. IS WHY I PUT HTE HEADER ON MY PAGE THAT IS THERE. I AM TRUELY BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE. IN OTHER WORDS. MY HANDS ARE TIED. AND IT AINT LOOKING NO BETTER FOR THE HOME TEAM. I HONESTLY DONT STRESS OVER ALL THIS. I JUST TAKE IT 1 DAY AT A TIME. AND TAKE WHAT EACH DAY BRINGS FOR ME IN STRIDE. I AM A VERY HEAD STRONG PERSON AND AM HIGH STRUNG. IN THE ASPECTS OF NOT LETTING THINGS BOTHER ME. WITH ALL OF THIS BEING SAID. I HOPE THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO DECIPHER IT. AND GIVE ME SOME INPUT AND DIRECTIONS THAT MAY BE OF USE TO ME. THIS IS A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION AND IM DEALING WITH IT THE BEST I KNOW HOW. THANK YOU VERY KINDLY MISS AMY.

Glenn-

I guess I'm not really sure what to tell you. If your Lupus is getting worse... well, whether you can take time to go to the doctor or not- you're gonna end up there, or in the hospital.

In the meantime. All I can tell you is to please, try and take care of yourself. Take necessary meds, maybe some extra Vitamin C, and get plenty of rest.

How long ago were you diagnosed? When was the last time you saw a rheumatologist?

MAYBE NOW YOU CAN SEE WHERE IM COMING FROM SWEETY. YOU CANT GIVE ME NO OTHER ALTERNATIVES JUST THE SAME AS I CANT THINK OF ANY MYSELF. I WAS DIAGNOSED 5 YEARS AGO BY A DERMATOLOGIST. I HAVE NEVER SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION SINCE MY DIAGNOSIS. I DONT EVEN HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT TYPE OR TYPES I HAVE. OR TO WHAT DEGREE OF SEVERITY IT IS. HAVE NEVER TAKEN ANY MEDICATIONS EITHER. I HAVE BIG RED SCARS ON THE SIDES OF MY FACE AND NECK. THEY LOOK LIKE IVE BEEN SEVERELY BURNED. I ALSO HAVE IT ON MY SCALP AND HAVE SEVERE HAIR LOSS. MY JOINTS ACHE CONSISTANTLY. AND AS HYPERACTIVE AS I USUALLY AM. IM FINDING IM RUNNING OUT OF ENERGY QUICKLY AND GET VERY TIRED. AND WHEN I LAY DOWN TO SLEEP. ITS A RESTLESS SLEEP. MY NORMAL SLEEP IS ABOT 2 TO 4 HRS A NITE.
